y.matsumoto

By utilizing Backlog, you can manage projects efficiently.
However, manually sharing task information with team members every time a new task is registered can be time-consuming and labor-intensive.
In this article, we will introduce a method to automatically notify Discord when a task is registered in Backlog by integrating Backlog with Discord.
With the no-code tool Yoom, you can achieve this automation easily without programming, allowing for seamless app integration.
We will explain the benefits of integration and detailed setup methods, so please read to the end.

Recommended for

・Those who prioritize task management efficiency and want to actively incorporate automation tools
・Those looking to improve the response speed of development teams
・Project managers who feel that lack of information sharing between different departments is an issue

Benefits and Examples of Backlog and Discord Integration

Benefit 1: Improved Task Management Efficiency and Reduction of Unnecessary Work

For example, consider a case where the support team is handling a large volume of customer inquiries during busy periods and registers each issue in Backlog.
By integrating Backlog with Discord, tasks added to Backlog are automatically notified to Discord, allowing the person in charge to quickly grasp the tasks through Discord notifications without repeatedly checking Backlog.
This allows for rapid visualization of registered task information, potentially reducing the risk of missing important tasks.
Additionally, by automating task notifications, team members can shorten the time spent checking tasks, leading to overall work efficiency and productivity improvements.

Benefit 2: Enhanced Rapid Response Capability of Development Teams

Integrating Backlog with Discord allows for automatic notifications to Discord when a new task is registered in Backlog, potentially providing an environment where development teams can respond quickly.
Especially in cases of bugs or critical issues, the ability to quickly share the situation with development team members can minimize delays in initial response.
For instance, if a customer reports that "the service is not working," it can be automatically notified to a specific channel on Discord once registered in Backlog.
This allows engineers to quickly review the content and promptly start addressing the issue.
As a result, improvements in customer satisfaction and cost reductions in trouble response can be expected.

Benefit 3: Improved Information Sharing Between Different Teams

If a customer inquires about "wanting to change product specifications," the sales representative can quickly and automatically notify a specific channel on Discord by registering the details in Backlog.
This notification includes project ID, subject, and task description, allowing the development team to immediately review the details, potentially preventing issues like "requests not being accurately conveyed" or "other departments not being able to quickly grasp the response status."
Additionally, members who check the notification can ask questions or confirm priorities through Discord comments, potentially enabling smooth collaboration between different departments.
As a result, improvements in the overall project progress speed can be expected.
