n.fukuoka

Backlog is a convenient tool that allows for visualization of work and prioritization of tasks, facilitating smooth project progress.
However, if you manually register issues in Backlog every time a deal is closed in Salesforce, it becomes cumbersome and increases the risk of input errors and missed issue additions.
Moreover, the more manual work there is, the more it can affect other tasks, potentially lowering the overall efficiency of the team.
This article explains the benefits of integrating Salesforce with Backlog and the basic flow of automation.

・Those who want to streamline information sharing between multiple tools and aim to improve work speed
・Those who manage deals in Salesforce and want to streamline project handling using Backlog

Benefits and Examples of Integrating Salesforce and Backlog

Benefit 1: Reduce Effort with Automatic Registration

By automatically registering issues in Backlog when a deal is closed in Salesforce, information related to the deal can be shared smoothly, and an improvement in work efficiency can be expected.
Automation allows information to be registered quickly, smoothing the workflow and potentially promoting team collaboration.
For example, when the sales team closes a new deal and manages the project in Backlog, automatic registration eliminates the need for manual entry, allowing sales representatives to secure time to work on the next deal.
Additionally, project managers can quickly check order information and move on to the next task, making the workflow smoother.

Benefit 2: Quick Sharing of Deal Progress

By automatically registering issues in Backlog when a deal is closed, an environment is created where all members involved in the project can check the progress information of the deal in real-time.
This increases the speed of information transmission to stakeholders, making it more likely that preparations for the next action within the company can proceed smoothly.
For example, the project management team can quickly arrange necessary resources and give specific work instructions to stakeholders based on the automatically registered issue information. This system allows the entire team to prepare efficiently and potentially launch projects quickly.
Moreover, smooth information sharing reduces the hassle of manual communication and follow-up.

Benefit 3: Prevent Mistakes and Omissions in Customer Information

Manual data entry is prone to human error, but by integrating Salesforce and Backlog, customer information and deal details are automatically registered from Salesforce to Backlog, eliminating the need for manual entry and improving information accuracy.
Additionally, even in projects involving multiple stakeholders or departments, the latest customer information can be easily checked, making it easier to prevent communication errors and information deficiencies.
For example, if customer support receives an inquiry from a customer, having accurate information registered in Backlog allows support staff to quickly grasp the issue, improving the accuracy and speed of customer response.
