Let's Create a Flow to Integrate Discord and YouTube

Let's get started with creating a flow that integrates Discord and YouTube!
We'll use Yoom to proceed with the integration of Discord and YouTube without any coding, so if you don't have a Yoom account yet, please create one from this link.

[What is Yoom]

This time, we will create a flow bot that retrieves and notifies YouTube channel reports based on specific Discord posts!
We will create it in the following major steps.

• Link Discord and YouTube to My Apps
• Copy the template
• Set up Discord triggers and YouTube operations
• Turn on the trigger and verify the operation of the integration flow

Step 1: Connect Discord and YouTube to My App

Let's register My App to connect Discord and YouTube to Yoom.
By completing the My App registration first, you can proceed with the automation settings smoothly.

Before connecting, make sure to post on Discord!

1. Click on My App on the left side of the Yoom page and select "+ Add".
Enter "Discord" in the search box at the top right and select the Discord icon from the search results.

2. On the displayed screen, enter the required fields and click "Add".

3. Next, register YouTube to My App.
Search for YouTube using the same procedure as before.
Select the account on the displayed screen, then click "Continue" on the subsequent screen.

If Discord and YouTube are displayed in My App, the registration is complete.

Step 2: Copy the Template

Let's create a flow from here! Since we are using a template, open the template page below and click 'Try it'.

The template will be automatically copied to your workspace. Please click "OK" on the next screen that appears.

Step 3: Setting the Discord Trigger

※The following screen will appear when you click on "【Copy】Retrieve and notify YouTube channel reports based on specific Discord posts" in the Flowbot under "My Projects" on the left side of the Yoom page.

1. Click "OK" on the previous screen, then click on the app trigger "When a message is sent in a channel" on the displayed screen.

2. Check each item on the displayed screen. Keep the trigger action as is and click "Next".

3. Set the details on the displayed screen.
Select "Trigger Interval".
※It is generally recommended to set it to the shortest time!
※Triggers can be set to intervals of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Please note that the shortest trigger interval varies depending on the plan.

4. Enter the "Server ID" according to the instructions below the input field.
Select the "Channel ID" from the options displayed when you click the input field.

5. After completing the input, execute "Test" and if successful, click "Save".
※The displayed output can also be used in the next settings.

Step 4: Setting the Branch

1. Click on the branch "Branch | Presence of Specific Phrases".

※・The "Branch" operation is available for Mini Plan and above. Please note that using it on the Free Plan will result in an error.
・Paid plans like the Mini Plan offer a 2-week free trial. During the free trial, you can freely try out apps and features that are usually restricted, so please take advantage of it.

Set the operation to "When a message is sent in a channel" and configure the item you want to detect in the output.

Set the "Branch Condition" to determine the conditions for processing the branch destination.
You can customize it freely, but for this example, we are using a template to set it as shown in the image below.

By setting it like this image, if the message content includes the word "YouTube report retrieval", it will automatically retrieve the YouTube report.
After completing the settings, click "Save".

Step 5: Setting to Extract Data from Text

1. Click on "Extract Data from Text".

Check each item and click "Next".

2. Configure the detailed settings.
Select the "Target Text" from the output displayed when you click the input field.

Enter any specific items you want to extract in addition to the items extracted by the template in "Items to Extract".
For this example, we set it as shown in the image below.

After completing the input, execute "Test" and if successful, click "Save".

Step 6: Setting YouTube

1. Click on "Retrieve Channel Report" to link with the app.

Check each item and click "Next".

‍

2. Configure the API connection settings.
Select "Channel ID", "Start Date", and "End Date" from the output displayed when you click the input field.

※・If you want to retrieve a report for a single YouTube channel, please set the channel ID field for report retrieval to a fixed value.
・Due to system constraints, data can only be retrieved from 3 days ago. For example, if you want to specify a specific date range, use the date addition/subtraction operation or prepare data from more than 3 days ago in advance and set it as the start of the range.

After completing the input, execute "Test" and if successful, click "Save".

Step 7: Setting Discord Message Sending

1. Click on "Send Message" to link with the app.

Check each item and click "Next".

2. Configure the API connection settings.
Enter the "Channel ID" according to the instructions below the input field.

You can select the "Message Content" from the output displayed when you click the input field.
※For this example, we set it as shown in the image below.

After completing the input, execute "Test" and if successful, click "Save".

Step 8: Turn ON the Trigger Button and Check the Operation of the Integration Flow

Click the "Turn on the trigger" button in the red frame on the screen below to automatically start the Flowbot.
