m.wadazumi

"Huh, is anyone handling this task?"
"I noticed the update too late...!"

When managing tasks with your team using ClickUp, do you ever feel this kind of frustration? It's a hassle to open ClickUp every time to check if a task has been created or updated, and sometimes things get overlooked. This is where the integration of ClickUp and Slack comes into play. By utilizing the API, you can automatically send notifications to Slack whenever a task is created or updated in ClickUp. This allows you to quickly catch task information on Slack, making team collaboration smoother.

In this article, we will specifically introduce the automation flow that can be achieved by integrating ClickUp and Slack. If you're considering improving work efficiency, be sure to check it out!

For those who want to try it out quickly

By using Yoom, you can easily integrate ClickUp and Slack without any code.

Yoom provides templates for integrating ClickUp and Slack in advance, so even without API knowledge, you can achieve integration immediately just by signing up.

What You Can Do by Integrating ClickUp and Slack

By integrating ClickUp with Slack's API, you can automatically sync ClickUp data with Slack!
For example, you can automate data synchronization like the following without any manual intervention.

Notify Slack When a Task is Created in ClickUp

This flow is recommended for those who use ClickUp for task management and want to notify Slack of task information for information sharing.

Notify Slack When a Task is Updated in ClickUp

Unlike the previous template, this allows you to notify Slack of updates to ClickUp task information, enabling you to check the latest task details.
This flow is recommended for those who want to quickly grasp updated task content.

Let's Create a ClickUp and Slack Integration Flow

Let's get started by creating a flow that integrates ClickUp and Slack!
We will use Yoom to proceed with the integration of ClickUp and Slack without any coding, so if you don't have a Yoom account yet, please create one using the link below.

[What is Yoom]

This time, we will create a flow bot that notifies Slack when a task is created in ClickUp!
The creation process is broadly divided into the following steps.

  • Register ClickUp and Slack as My Apps
  • Copy the template
  • Set the ClickUp trigger that initiates the flow and the subsequent Slack action settings
  • Turn on the trigger button to activate the flow bot

Step 1: Register ClickUp and Slack as My Apps

First, register ClickUp and Slack as My Apps to connect them to Yoom.
Completing the My Apps registration in advance makes it easier to proceed with automation settings.

Let's proceed with the settings!
Click "My Apps" → "Add" on the left side of the Yoom screen.

How to Connect ClickUp

A list of apps will be displayed, so search for ClickUp from there or use the search function.
When the following screen appears, please log in to ClickUp.

When the following screen appears, check that there are no errors in the workspace to be connected, and click "Connect Workspace".

How to Connect Slack

Similarly, search for Slack from the list or use the search function.

When the following screen appears, please enter the Slack URL.

When the following screen appears, select the appropriate channel from "Channel Search".
For detailed settings, please check here.

If ClickUp and Slack are displayed in your My Apps section, the registration is complete.

Step 2: Copy the Template

Now, let's proceed with the automation settings!
Log in to Yoom and click "Try it" on the banner below.

The template will be automatically copied, and the following screen will be displayed.
The template will be automatically stored in a project called My Project, so if you want to check it, please do so from there.
Read the following screen display and click "OK".

When the following screen is displayed, please check the "Title".
You can also change the title to make it easier to use.
