■Overview
Do you use ClickUp for project management and GitHub for managing development tasks, but find it time-consuming to enter the same information twice or transfer it manually?
In particular, manually creating GitHub Issues from tasks registered in ClickUp can lead to errors and missed entries.
With this workflow, you can automate the integration between ClickUp and GitHub. When a specific task is created in ClickUp, an Issue is automatically added to GitHub, helping streamline your development process.
■Who should use this template
- Development teams that manually integrate ClickUp and GitHub and want to eliminate inefficiencies
- Project managers who want to automate the process from creating ClickUp tasks to creating GitHub Issues
- Team leaders who want to prevent gaps in information synchronization between the two tools and improve productivity across the development process
■Benefits of using this template
- When a task is added to ClickUp, a GitHub Issue is created automatically, reducing the time spent manually transferring information
- Because manual data entry is no longer required, you can reduce the risk of human error, such as missing Issues or entering incorrect information
■Workflow steps
- First, connect ClickUp and GitHub to Yoom
- Next, select ClickUp as the trigger and set the action to “When a task is created”
- Then, configure branching in the operation settings so that subsequent steps run only when specific conditions are met
- Next, configure ClickUp’s “Get a task” action in the operation settings to retrieve the task details
- Next, use the data extraction and calculation features to format the retrieved information required to create a GitHub Issue
- Finally, configure GitHub’s “Create an Issue” action in the operation settings to create an Issue based on the formatted information
※ “Trigger”: An action that starts the workflow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the workflow after the trigger runs
■Customization options
- In the ClickUp trigger settings, you can set the IDs of the team, space, folder, and list you want to monitor
- With branching, you can set custom conditions based on task information retrieved from ClickUp to determine whether the workflow proceeds to subsequent operations
- In ClickUp’s “Get a task” operation, you can specify the ID of the task whose information you want to retrieve using a fixed value or variable
- When extracting data with regular expressions, you can customize the text to search and the items to extract
- For date and time calculations, you can specify the date to convert and the desired output format
- When creating an Issue in GitHub, you can use information retrieved from ClickUp as variables and customize fields such as the title and body
■Notes
- Connect both ClickUp and GitHub to Yoom.
- Branching is an operation available on the Mini plan and above. Please note that if you are on the Free plan, the configured workflow operation will result in an error.
- Paid plans, including the Mini plan, offer a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use apps and features (operations) that are otherwise restricted.
- Workflows with more than five operations can be configured on the Mini plan and above. Please note that workflows will not run on the Free plan.
