Sales representatives and project managers, do you have these concerns with task management? Issues like "I manage with Google Sheets but forget to input into Close" or "Manual tasks are increasing, making it easy to miss tasks."
With Yoom, every time a new row is added to Google Sheets, a task is automatically created in Close. This reduces the burden of manual work and prevents task omissions.
In this article, we introduce how to easily set up integration with Yoom without programming. Save time on task management and streamline your operations!
Recommended for
Sales representatives managing tasks with Google Sheets who want to prevent task omissions and duplicates
Sales team leaders using Close who feel that adding tasks manually takes too much time
Project managers working across multiple teams who face challenges in sharing task information
IT personnel in companies using multiple tools who want to avoid spending time on task progress management
Companies using Google Sheets and Close who want to improve operational efficiency through automation
Benefits and Examples of Integrating Google Sheets and Close
Benefit 1: Reduce Manual Workload
By automatically adding tasks managed in Google Sheets to Close, you can reduce manual input work and prevent task management errors.
For example, when a sales team is tracking the progress of negotiations in Google Sheets, they might forget to manually input new negotiations into Close. However, by integrating Google Sheets and Close, a task is automatically created every time a new row is added, preventing task omissions. This can improve the accuracy of task management and ensure smooth sales activities.
Benefit 2: Strengthen Team Collaboration
Integrating Google Sheets and Close allows task information to be automatically shared, strengthening collaboration across multiple teams. In projects involving multiple teams, delays in sharing task information can hinder operations.
For example, when a sales team manages customer actions in Google Sheets, the customer support team might need that information to plan their next steps. If Google Sheets and Close are integrated, when the sales team updates progress in Google Sheets, it is automatically reflected as a task in Close and shared with the support team. This process allows all teams to act based on the same information, facilitating smooth project progress.
Benefit 3: Prevent Task Delays and Omissions
In sales and project management, manual task additions and progress updates can cause task delays and omissions.
For example, if a sales representative inputs the progress of negotiations into Google Sheets but forgets to manually reflect it in Close, the next action might be delayed. By integrating Google Sheets and Close, every time new information is entered into Google Sheets, it is automatically reflected as a task in Close, improving task management accuracy. This can reduce errors and delays in ongoing projects, leading to improved operational efficiency.
Now, let's explain how to use the no-code tool Yoom to "create a task in Close when a row is added to Google Sheets."
[What is Yoom]
How to Turn Content Added to Google Sheets into Tasks in Close
This flow automatically creates a task in Close when a new row is added to Google Sheets. This flow can streamline task management based on spreadsheet data. Generally, programming knowledge is required to achieve this, but with the no-code tool Yoom, it can be easily accomplished without programming knowledge.
The general flow is as follows:
Integrate Yoom with Google Sheets and Close as My Apps
Copy the template
Configure flow details
Turn on the trigger
If you are not using Yoom, please register for free here. If you are already using Yoom, please log in.
Step 1: Integrate Google Sheets and Close with My Apps
First, let's integrate the apps used in this flow with Yoom in My Apps. After logging into Yoom, click "+ New Connection" from "My Apps" in the left menu.
When the app search window appears, search for each app name.
Integrate Google Sheets with My Apps
*Before integrating Google Sheets with My Apps, prepare the sheet you will use. If you prepare the sheet after integration, information retrieval may not work well. (There is no problem if you change the sheet content later.)
To integrate Google Sheets, you need to log in with your Google account.
When you search for Google Sheets in "New Connection", click "Sign in with Google" in the image above. Then, select your Google account and proceed to the "Log in to Yoom" screen, and click "Next".
Next, when the screen asking for Yoom's access to your Google account appears, click "Continue".
Click "Continue" to automatically return to the My Apps list page in Yoom, completing the integration.
Integrate Close with My Apps
An API key is required to integrate Close with My Apps. Obtain it from the Close management screen.
Click "+New API Key" to create a key to register with Yoom. Once you have obtained the key, paste it into the Yoom screen and click "Add".
If it appears in the My Apps list, the integration is complete.
Next, proceed to the detailed settings of the flow. Click "Try it" from the banner below to copy the template.
Step 2: Set Up App Trigger in Google Sheets
The initial setting is "When a row is added". When a new row is added to the specified Google Sheets, the flow will be triggered.
On the first page, the account information of the Google Sheets linked with My App is reflected.
If necessary, make corrections to the title and proceed to the next step after confirming the account name.
On the next page, set the trigger activation interval.
The trigger activation interval can be selected between 5 minutes and 60 minutes. Please note that it may not be selectable depending on the plan contracted with Yoom.
Spreadsheet ID: Select the name of the Google Sheets to be used from the candidates
Sheet ID: Select the tab name to be used from the candidates
Column with Unique Values: Specify a column where values do not overlap with other rows in the same column
In the sheet used this time, the column with unique values is specified as column A (Lead ID).
Once the necessary items are set, enter information into the sheet for testing and click "Test".
If the test is successful, the content entered in Google Sheets will be reflected in the output values.
The content of the output that can be obtained will change according to the content of the added row. Once confirmed up to this point, click "Save" to complete the app trigger setup.
Step 3: Set Up Task Addition in Close
Next is the "Create Task" setting.
Let's perform detailed settings to register information from Google Sheets into Close. On the first page, as with Google Sheets, make corrections to the title and confirm the account information before proceeding to the next step.
Next, set up to reflect information in Close.
Select and enter items from the output. Once all entries are made, click "Test".
Check whether the output is obtained and whether its content is registered as a new task in Close.
The information has been correctly reflected. This completes the setup for adding tasks to Close.
Step 4: Set Up Google Sheets Information Update
The final setting is "Update Record". This setting is necessary for the flow to update tasks in Close, which is the counterpart of this setup, and is used to reflect the Task ID information obtained in the Close setup into Google Sheets.
On the first page, as before, make corrections to the title and confirm the account information, then scroll down.
Enter the information of the Google Sheets to be updated in "Database Integration". This time, we are using the same sheet as used in the setup.
Once entered, proceed to set the conditions for information update.
You can set it to update only the item ② of the row that matches condition ①. In the above image, it is set to add (update) the Task ID to the row where the Lead ID entered in Google Sheets matches the Lead ID obtained from the output.
Once set, click "Test" to check if the specified content is reflected in Google Sheets.
The Task ID has been successfully added to Google Sheets. Finally, click "Save" to complete all settings.
By turning on the trigger and running the flow, tasks will now be automatically added to Close when a row is added to Google Sheets.
The flow set up is as follows:
Other Automation Examples Using Google Sheets and Close
Update Close Task When a Row is Updated in Google Sheets
<span class="mark-yellow">This is an updated version of the flow introduced this time.
</span>When a row in Google Sheets is updated, the task in Close is automatically updated, eliminating the need for manual changes. This can streamline task management and ensure operations are carried out based on the latest information, potentially reducing delays and errors in work.
Delete Close tasks when a row is updated in Google Sheets
When a row in Google Sheets is updated, unnecessary tasks in Close are automatically deleted. This is expected to streamline task organization and create an environment where work progress can be efficiently tracked.
Create a contact in Close when a row is added in Google Sheets
When a new row is added to the spreadsheet, a new contact is automatically created in Close. This automation simplifies the process of registering new contacts and is expected to improve data management efficiency.
Summary
With Yoom, integrating Google Sheets and Close becomes easy, reducing the burden of manual tasks. It helps prevent task omissions and input errors, leading to improved work efficiency and management accuracy.
Moreover, Yoom requires no programming knowledge, making it easy for anyone to set up.

I have been an SEO writer for 5 years and have continued to write under the motto “easy to read” and “easy to convey.”
I want to bring the convenience of Yoom, which can be linked to apps without programming knowledge, to many people!
Conventional RPA can only automate simple repetitive tasks, and the setup process was very complicated. With “hyperautomation,” which combines various technologies such as AI, API, RPA, and OCR, it is possible to automate many tasks that could not be realized until now more easily than before.
Most tools simply connect one app to another, leaving the complex tasks to you. Yoom goes much further: From document creation and browser automation to OCR and generative AI, Yoom handles it all seamlessly in one platform.
Why settle for basic integrations? Streamline your entire workflow with Yoom’s powerful hyperautomation.
