How to Add Message Content to Google Docs When a Message is Sent in Microsoft Teams

r.oba-

When using Microsoft Teams in daily operations, the number of teams you participate in can increase, leading to the risk of missing important messages. By using Yoom to integrate Microsoft Teams with Google Docs, you can automatically add the content to Google Docs whenever a message is sent in Microsoft Teams. This eliminates the need to manually transcribe the content, helping to prevent missing important messages. Additionally, as knowledge accumulates in Google Docs, it can contribute to improving project success rates. This article explains how to set up the flow to add message content to Google Docs when a message is sent in Microsoft Teams, as well as the benefits of implementing it.

Recommended for

  • Those who are utilizing Microsoft Teams and Google Docs separately and want to streamline information management by integrating the apps
  • Managers who want to efficiently organize and share meeting content and messages
  • Project leaders looking to streamline project management
  • Team leaders who want to facilitate smooth information sharing and knowledge accumulation between teams
  • IT personnel aiming to improve work efficiency by integrating Microsoft Teams with other tools

Now, let's explain how to use the no-code tool Yoom to "automatically add the content of a message to Google Docs when it is sent in Microsoft Teams".

[What is Yoom]

How to add message content to Google Docs when a message is sent in Microsoft Teams

This can be achieved by receiving the message sent in Microsoft Teams using the Microsoft Teams API and adding it to Google Docs using the API provided by Google Docs. Generally, programming knowledge is required to achieve this, but with the no-code tool Yoom, it can be easily accomplished without programming knowledge.

We will create this in the following major processes:

  • Register Microsoft Teams and Google Docs as My Apps
  • Copy the template
  • Set the trigger in Microsoft Teams that serves as the starting point of the flow, followed by the operation settings in Google Docs
  • Turn on the trigger button and verify the integration operation between Microsoft Teams and Google Docs

If you are not using Yoom, please register for free from here.
If you are already using Yoom, please log in.

Step 1: Register Microsoft Teams and Google Docs as My Apps

Register Microsoft Teams and Google Docs as My Apps to connect them to Yoom.
By registering My Apps first, you can easily set up automation.

First, register Microsoft Teams as My App.
Click "My Apps" → "New Connection" on the left side of the Yoom screen.

After setting, click "Test".

When you run the test, the summarized text will be displayed.
Confirm that the text is displayed and click "Save".

Step 5: Set the Action

Next, set the action for Google Docs. Click "Append text to end".

__wf_reserved_inherit

Next, check the "Account information to integrate with Google Docs".
