Let's Create a Flow to Integrate Trello and Todoist
Now, let's create a flow that integrates Trello and Todoist! We will use Yoom to proceed with the integration of Trello and Todoist without any coding. If you do not have a Yoom account yet, please create one using this registration form.
[What is Yoom]
This time, we will create a flow bot that creates a task in Todoist when a card is created in Trello! The creation process is broadly divided into the following steps.
Integrate Trello and Todoist with My Apps
Copy the template
Set up the trigger in Trello and the action in Todoist
Turn on the trigger and start the flow bot
Step 1: Integrating My Apps with Trello and Todoist
1. How to Register Trello
After logging into Yoom, click on "My Apps" and then click on "+ Add". Search for Trello.
The following screen will be displayed, and you will configure the settings within the red frame.
Check the "API Key" and "Access Token" from the Trello screen and enter them in the fields on the above screen! For detailed instructions on how to register your Trello app, please refer to the help page here. The "API Key" and "Access Token" will also be used in the subsequent app trigger and action settings, so it is convenient to copy them!
Trello has now been registered in My Apps!
2. How to Register Todoist
Click the "New Connection" button in My Apps. This time, search for Todoist.
Once the displayed screen appears, enter your email and password, then click "Login".
Todoist has now been registered in My Apps!
Step 2: Copying the Template
Once the My Apps registration is complete, proceed to the Flowbot settings!
Yoom provides templates to easily set up automation. First, click "Try it" on the banner below to copy the template.
The following screen will be displayed, so let's click the "OK" button.
Step 3: Setting the Trigger to Activate When a Card is Created in Trello
First, click the Trello icon's "When a card is newly created" to set it up.
The following screen will be displayed, so make sure the trigger action is set to "When a card is newly created(Webhook)" and proceed to the next step.
Enter the "API Key" and "Access Token" obtained during Trello's My App integration!
Set the username by referring to the annotation outside the frame.
For the board ID, click inside the frame and select any option from the displayed suggestions. Once set, press "Next".
Now switch to Trello and create a test card. (You can set the card content freely!)
When you press the test button, the information of the test card you registered earlier will be obtained as output. If the output is obtained correctly, click Save. *Reference: For more information on output, please check this help page.
Step 4: Retrieve Card Information in Trello
Next, let's set up the "Retrieve Card Information" item in the Trello icon.
When the following screen is displayed, check for any errors in the information and click "Next".
Enter the API key and token again, using the values used during app integration in the previous step. For the board ID, refer to the annotation outside the frame and obtain it from within Trello's URL.
For the card ID, click inside the frame and select "ID of Added Card" from the displayed output.
Click Test, and if successful, press the "Save" button.
Step 5: Create a Task in Todoist
Finally, set up the Todoist icon's "Create Task".
Check the contents of the following screen, and if there are no errors in the information, click "Next".
You can set the content freely. This time, we set it up so that when a card is created in Trello, the "Name of added card" can be automatically quoted in Todoist's content! Click inside the frame and click "Name of added card" in the output to set it.
You can also set the description freely according to your needs! As an example, we have set it to automatically quote the description of the card added to Trello.
Once you have set this up, click "Test". If the test is successful, press "Save".
Step 6: Turn on the Trigger
Once all the steps are set up, the following screen will be displayed. Click "Turn on the trigger" to activate the flow bot and check if it works correctly!
This completes the flow of "Creating a task in Todoist when a card is created in Trello"!
Other Automation Examples Using Trello and Todoist APIs
By leveraging the APIs of Trello and Todoist, a variety of automations can be achieved! How about considering the following automations?
Convenient Automation Examples Using Trello
You can automatically notify Microsoft Teams or register information in Google Sheets by referencing Trello data. Additionally, you can automatically add inquiry details or business card images to Trello!
Convenient Automation Examples Using Todoist
You can automatically create tasks in Todoist based on information from Gmail, Asana, and Google Calendar. Additionally, you can register Todoist task information in Notion or send notifications to Slack!
In Conclusion
By integrating Trello data with Todoist, you can quickly create tasks and simplify task management across both Trello and Todoist! This can reduce the time spent on manual data entry and help prevent task creation errors.
If tasks created in Trello are automatically synced with Todoist, it might reduce issues like "The task is in Trello but not in Todoist, so I don't know which data is correct!"
Moreover, the key point of this integration is that it can be achieved without programming knowledge! With Yoom, such app integrations become easy.
Until now, I have experienced sales and sales office work in the human resources industry.
Based on my experience in my previous job, I feel that the problems faced by various companies can be reduced by “automating operations.”
Through Yoom, we will continue to send out information on a daily basis so that we can solve your problems even a little bit!
Conventional RPA can only automate simple repetitive tasks, and the setup process was very complicated. With “hyperautomation,” which combines various technologies such as AI, API, RPA, and OCR, it is possible to automate many tasks that could not be realized until now more easily than before.
Most tools simply connect one app to another, leaving the complex tasks to you. Yoom goes much further: From document creation and browser automation to OCR and generative AI, Yoom handles it all seamlessly in one platform.
Why settle for basic integrations? Streamline your entire workflow with Yoom’s powerful hyperautomation.
