■Overview
Do you often receive video files in QuickTime format and have to convert them to MP4 every time you play or share them? Launching and operating a conversion tool manually each time can be time-consuming and take you away from other important tasks. With this workflow, whenever a QuickTime file is uploaded to Google Drive, it is automatically converted to MP4 and saved to a specified folder. This automates the file conversion process and creates an environment where you can focus on more important work.
■Who is this template for?
- Anyone who manages video files in Google Drive and finds converting files from QuickTime to MP4 time-consuming
- Team leaders who frequently share video files and want to standardize and streamline the process of converting QuickTime files to MP4
- Anyone considering automating routine tasks such as file conversion using RPA or similar tools
■Benefits of using this template
- Automate the entire process from conversion to storage when a file is uploaded to Google Drive, reducing the time spent operating conversion tools manually.
- Prevent human errors such as selecting the wrong file or saving the converted file in the wrong location, helping improve operational accuracy.
■How the Flowbot works
- First, connect Google Drive to Yoom.
- Next, select Google Drive as the trigger and set the action to “When a new file or folder is created in a specific folder.”
- Then, set the Google Drive “Download a file” action in the operation to retrieve the file detected by the trigger.
- Next, set the RPA “Operate the browser” feature in the operation, then use an online file conversion tool to convert the downloaded file to MP4.
- After that, set the data transformation “Replace data using regular expressions” feature in the operation to prepare the information used for the saved file name.
- Finally, set the Google Drive “Upload a file” action in the operation to save the converted and formatted MP4 file to the specified folder.
※ “Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.
■Customization options
- In the Google Drive trigger settings, you can change the folder ID to specify which folder should be monitored for QuickTime file uploads.
- In the RPA feature settings (“Operate the browser”), you can freely customize the URL of the online tool used for file conversion and browser actions such as clicking and entering text.
- When uploading the converted MP4 file to Google Drive, you can set any destination folder and file name.
■Notes
- Connect Google Drive to Yoom.
- You can select a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
- Note that the shortest trigger interval varies by plan.
- The maximum downloadable file size is 300 MB. Depending on the app specifications, the limit may be less than 300 MB.
- For details on the file size limits supported by triggers and individual operations, see File Size Limits.
- The browser operation feature is available only on the Success Plan. On the Free, Personal, Mini, and Team Plans, operations using this feature in configured Flowbots will result in an error.
- Paid plans such as the Success Plan include a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use restricted apps and browser operation features. For details, see the Pricing Plans page.
- For instructions on configuring browser operations, see How to Configure “Operate the Browser”.
- Customize browser operations to match the website you use.
