When a CSV file is uploaded to Dropbox, use RPA to convert it to a TXT file and save it

When a CSV file is uploaded to Dropbox, use RPA to convert it to a TXT file and save it

Launch this workflow to connect Dropbox !

■Overview

When importing CSV files into a system, you may need to convert them to TXT files. While this conversion is simple, handling it manually can be time-consuming and take time away from other tasks. With this workflow, simply upload a CSV file to Dropbox and the RPA feature will automatically convert it and save it to the specified folder. Eliminate the time and human errors associated with manual conversions and streamline your file management processes.

■Who should use this template

  • Anyone who spends time on recurring file format conversion tasks
  • Anyone who wants to use Dropbox as a data integration hub and automate end-to-end file management tasks
  • Anyone who wants to eliminate errors such as manual file conversion mistakes and incorrect save locations

■Benefits of using this template

  • Conversion starts automatically when you add a file to Dropbox, reducing the time spent on conversion tasks.
  • Automated processing reduces the risk of human errors, such as selecting the wrong file or missing a conversion, improving operational accuracy.

■Flow Bot steps

  1. First, connect Dropbox to Yoom.
  2. Next, select Dropbox as the trigger and set the action to “When a file is created or updated in a specific folder.”
  3. Next, set the Dropbox “Download a file” action as an operation to download the CSV file detected by the trigger.
  4. Next, set the RPA “Operate the browser” action as an operation to automate the conversion of the downloaded CSV file into a TXT file.
  5. Finally, set the Dropbox “Upload a file” action as an operation to save the converted TXT file to the specified folder.

※“Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that performs processing within the flow after the trigger starts.

■Customizing this workflow

  • In Dropbox’s trigger setting, “When a file is created or updated in a specific folder,” set the path and file name of the folder you want to monitor.
  • In Dropbox’s “Download a file” action, set the path to the folder containing the file to download.
  • In Dropbox’s “Upload a file” action, set the path to the folder where you want to save the converted TXT file.

■Notes

  • ‍‍Connect Dropbox to Yoom.
  • You can select a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
  • Note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
  • The “Operate the browser” operation is available only on the Success Plan. On the Free, Mini, and Team Plans, any Flow Bot operation configured with this feature will result in an error.
  • Paid plans, including the Success Plan, offer a two-week free trial. During the trial, you can use restricted apps and operations that operate the browser.
  • For details on how to configure the “Operate the browser” operation, see below.
