■Overview
When working with audio files, do you still manually convert AIFF files to WAV format? Selecting a file, operating a conversion tool, and saving it again each time can be surprisingly time-consuming and may take time away from your core work.
This workflow automatically converts AIFF files and saves them to a designated folder using RPA as soon as you upload them to Dropbox. Automate repetitive tasks like this and create an environment where you can focus on creative work.
■Who this template is for
- Anyone who finds manually converting files time-consuming or tedious
- Anyone managing a large number of audio files in Dropbox and looking to streamline format standardization
- Anyone looking to automate routine tasks such as file conversion and improve overall productivity
■Benefits of using this template
- Automate everything from converting uploaded AIFF files to WAV format through saving them, reducing the time previously spent on manual work.
- Prevent human errors such as manual file conversion mistakes and saving files to the wrong location, helping maintain consistent work quality.
■Flowbot workflow
- First, connect Dropbox to Yoom.
- Next, select Dropbox as the trigger and set the action to “When a file is created or updated in a specific folder.”
- Next, set Dropbox’s “Download a file” action as an operation and download the AIFF file detected by the trigger.
- Next, set the RPA feature’s “Operate a browser” operation and use an online file conversion tool of your choice to convert the AIFF file to a WAV file.
- Finally, set Dropbox’s “Upload a file” action as an operation and upload the converted WAV file to the designated folder.
* “Trigger”: An action that starts a flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within a flow after the trigger starts.
■Workflow customization points
- In the Dropbox trigger settings, specify the folder path and file name for the files that should trigger the Flowbot.
- For Dropbox’s “Download a file” action, make sure to correctly specify the path to the folder containing the file detected by the trigger.
- For Dropbox’s “Upload a file” action, which uploads the converted WAV file, specify the path to the destination folder.
■Notes
- Connect Dropbox to Yoom.
- You can select a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
- Note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
- The “Operate a browser” operation is available only on the Success Plan. On the Free, Mini, and Team Plans, Flowbot operations that use this feature will result in an error.
- Paid plans such as the Success Plan include a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use restricted apps and operations that operate a browser.
- See the following for instructions on configuring the “Operate a browser” operation.
