Benefits and Automation Examples of Integrating Google Forms with Slack
This time, we will introduce the integration of the web form creation tool Google Forms and the team communication tool Slack. By integrating these two tools, you can automatically import information answered in Google Forms into Slack. Automatic synchronization of information through integration not only enables quick and accurate information sharing without the need for data verification or re-entry, but also brings various benefits in areas such as project and task management, and customer support.
Let's take a look at some examples of tasks that can be automated through integration.
Example 1: Add Backlog Issues and Notify Slack from Google Forms Responses
This is a workflow when integrating project management tool Backlog in addition to Google Forms and Slack. For instance, when meeting reservation information is submitted via Google Forms, you can set it up to register the meeting preparation as an issue (task) in Backlog and notify a specified Slack channel of the form response content and Backlog issue ID. Smooth information sharing and task management enable the team to respond quickly.
Example 2: Aggregate Google Forms Responses and Notify Slack
This is a workflow when integrating Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets in addition to Google Forms and Slack. For example, if you make it a habit to report project progress weekly via Google Forms, you can append the results to Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and automatically notify Slack of the aggregated results. Progress management is automated, allowing you to always keep track of the project's progress in real-time.
Example 3: Notify Slack of Google Forms Responses
For example, when a customer inquiry is submitted via Google Forms, the content is immediately notified to a dedicated Slack channel. Real-time information sharing enables the support team to respond quickly, enhancing customer support.
As shown above, automatic integration of information from Google Forms to Slack allows for accurate and swift information sharing, leading to increased operational efficiency. By preparing forms for each business content or simultaneously integrating related tools, the scope of automatable tasks expands, and the benefits increase significantly.
Integration and Automation with Yoom is Recommended!
For those who have read about the benefits and automation examples and want to try it themselves, good news! With Yoom, you can integrate and automate without programming skills or knowledge, using no-code. If you haven't registered with Yoom, you can issue an account from here. If you want to first check the operations, you can start with a free plan or try a paid plan trial.
Once your account registration is complete, try creating an integration and automation flow using Yoom. We will explain in detail how to create the business flow of adding an issue to Backlog and notifying Slack when there is a response to Google Forms, which was introduced first in the examples, using a template.
Creating a business flow becomes even easier with a template. First, please copy the template from the "Try it" link below.
How to Add a Task to Backlog and Notify Slack When There is a Response to a Google Form
Before You Begin
Create a Google Form for responses and keep its URL handy. ※ Registration with Yoom and copying the template are as previously mentioned. ※ The following Step 1 is the procedure for app integration. If already integrated, skip to Step 2.
Step 1: Integrate Google Forms, Backlog, and Slack with My Apps
1. After logging into Yoom, select "My Apps" from the left menu and click "+ New Connection" on the right side of the screen.
2. From the list of new connections in My Apps, select Google Forms, Backlog, and Slack respectively, and integrate the apps. ※ A dialog for integration permission will appear for each. Proceed while checking the content. ※ For Slack integration, please also check here.
Step 2: Set a Trigger to Activate When a Response is Submitted to Google Forms
1. Open the copied template. (You can change the title if necessary.) To open it manually, select the relevant template from My Projects and click "Edit" at the top right of the screen.
2. Click "App Trigger When a Response is Submitted to the Form" from Flowbot.
3. Configure "Select Linked Account and Action". Change the title of the app trigger if necessary, and click "Next".
4. Set up the API connection for the app trigger. ・Trigger Activation Interval: Set an appropriate time according to your business needs. ・Form ID: Enter it by referring to the note at the bottom of the field from the Google Forms URL. ・For information on how to retrieve response data from Google Forms, refer to here.
5. Conduct a test, and if successful, click "Save".
Step 3: Set an Action to Add a Task to Backlog
1. Click "Integrate with App Add a Task" from Flowbot.
2. Configure "Select Linked Account and Action". Change the title if necessary, and click "Next".
3. Set up the API connection. Enter the domain and project ID where the task will be registered, as well as the information of the task you want to register, by referring to the note at the bottom of the field. ※ Utilize the output obtained in Step 2. ※ The image below is an example of input.
4. Conduct a test, and if successful, click "Save".
Step 4: Set an Action to Send a Message to a Slack Channel
1. Click "Integrate with App Notify Slack" from Flowbot.
2. Configure "Select Linked Account and Action". Change the title if necessary, and click "Next".
3. Set up the API connection. Enter the channel ID and the content of the message to be posted. ※ You can refer to the output information obtained in Step 2 and Step 3 in the message. ※ The image below is an example of input.
4. Conduct a test, and if successful, click "Save".
Finally, switch the trigger of the saved flow to "ON" to activate it.
This completes the flow of adding a task to Backlog and notifying Slack when there is a response to Google Forms.
Advanced Integration Flow of Google Forms and Slack
Here, we introduce two templates from the business flows that can be automated by integrating Google Forms and Slack.
Automatically Transfer Information from Google Forms to Microsoft Excel and Notify Slack
This requires integration with Microsoft Excel. Similar to the second automation example mentioned with its benefits, this flow involves appending form information to Excel and then notifying Slack. Once the notification is received, you can check the contents by simply opening the Excel sheet without accessing Google Forms. This is more convenient when you want to compare with past information, so please use this template. Additionally, it is possible to create a flow by replacing Excel with Google Sheets.
Create a Schedule in Google Calendar from Google Form Reservation Information and Notify via Slack
This requires integration with Google Calendar. It is recommended for use with reservation forms for meetings or briefings. Since it can automatically handle everything from creating a schedule in Google Calendar to notifying via Slack, it is useful for schedule management.
There are many automation flows related to the two tools, so please try using Yoom while referring to the templates.
Conclusion
By integrating Google Forms with Slack, you can automatically share information obtained from form responses accurately and promptly. Create forms tailored to your business needs and integrate related tools simultaneously to automate related tasks and streamline your operations!

Until now, I have experienced office work at specialized trading companies and in the EC industry.
The work I was in charge of covered a wide range of tasks, such as sales office work, accounting, general affairs, human resources, and legal affairs.
We worked to improve the efficiency of individual tasks, but I think the work could proceed more conveniently by using various support tools and Yoom...
I would be happy if I could send out an introduction article on Yoom that makes use of my work experience and help everyone proceed smoothly with their work.
Conventional RPA can only automate simple repetitive tasks, and the setup process was very complicated. With “hyperautomation,” which combines various technologies such as AI, API, RPA, and OCR, it is possible to automate many tasks that could not be realized until now more easily than before.
Most tools simply connect one app to another, leaving the complex tasks to you. Yoom goes much further: From document creation and browser automation to OCR and generative AI, Yoom handles it all seamlessly in one platform.
Why settle for basic integrations? Streamline your entire workflow with Yoom’s powerful hyperautomation.
