When information is updated in databases like Google Sheets or Notion, WordPress posts are automatically updated as well. This makes content management easier and can reduce the workload for those responsible!

Let's Create a Flow to Automatically Update WordPress Data

Let's dive right in and create a flow that automatically updates WordPress data! This time, we'll use Yoom to proceed with the setup without any coding. If you don't have a Yoom account yet, please issue one from the registration form here.

[What is Yoom]

This time, we'll create a flow to update a WordPress post when a Google Form is answered!
The creation process is broadly divided into the following steps.

  • Link Google Forms and WordPress to My Apps
  • Copy the template
  • Set up the app trigger
  • Link with WordPress and update the post
  • Set the trigger to ON and complete the flow operation preparation

Step 1: Connect Google Forms and WordPress to My App

(1) After logging into Yoom, select "My Apps" from the left column and click "+ Add".
From the app list in My Apps, click on Google Forms.

(2) Click "Sign in with Google" on the Google login screen and sign in with your account.

(3) Select your account.

(4) Click "Continue".

(5) Check the information Yoom can access and click "Continue".

(6) Next, connect WordPress. Similarly, click WordPress from the app list in Yoom.
On the "WordPress Registration" screen, check the red line, enter your account name, domain, username, and password, and click "Add".

Once the connection is complete, Google Forms and WordPress will be registered in Yoom's My Apps.

This completes the My App registration.
Next, let's set up triggers using templates!

Step 2: Copy the Template

From here, start creating the flow!
By using Yoom's templates, you can easily automate your tasks.
First, open the template page below and click 'Try this template'.

When you copy, the template will be copied to your Yoom management screen as shown in the image below, so press OK to proceed with the setup!

Step 3: Set Up App Trigger

(1) Set up for when a response is submitted to Google Forms.
Click on "When a response is submitted to the form" in the app trigger.

(2) From the "Select Your Linked" screen in Google Forms, check if there are any errors in the account information connected to Google Forms, keep the trigger action as "When a form response is submitted," and click "Next."

(3) From the "API Connection Settings for the App Trigger" screen, select the trigger interval.
Select the trigger interval from the dropdown menu, choosing from 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 60 minutes.
※ Please note that the shortest interval varies depending on the plan.
We recommend using the shortest interval whenever possible!

Scroll down, check the red line, and enter the form ID.
Once the entry is complete, submit a test response to the target Google Form, return to Yoom, and click "Test."

If the information from Google Forms is reflected in the retrieved value, the test is successful.
If you're wondering "What is retrieved value?", please refer to the site below!

About Retrieved value

Also, for methods on how to retrieve response data when Google Forms is set as a trigger, please refer to the method below.

(3) From the "API Connection Settings" screen, select the post ID from "Retrieved Value."

Other fields are not mandatory, but use "Retrieved Value" to fill in the necessary fields!
Once the entry is complete, click "Test" at the bottom, and if no errors occur, click "Save."

Step 5: Set Trigger to ON and Prepare for Flow Operation

Well done! All settings are now complete.
Once the setup is complete, a menu like the one below will be displayed, so turn the trigger ON.

Try actually starting the flow bot and check if the post is updated on WordPress when you respond on Google Forms!
