Let's Create a Workflow Integrating Notion and Anthropic (Claude)

Let's get started by creating a workflow that integrates Notion and Anthropic (Claude)!
This time, we'll use Yoom to proceed with the integration of Notion and Anthropic (Claude) without any coding, so if you don't have a Yoom account yet, please create one using thisregistration form.

[What is Yoom]

This time, we will create a flow bot that summarizes a page created in Notion using Anthropic (Claude) and records it in Notion!
The creation process is broadly divided into the following steps.

  • Integrate Notion and Anthropic (Claude) with My Apps
  • Copy the template
  • Set up Notion triggers and Anthropic (Claude) actions
  • Turn on the trigger and prepare to activate the flow

Step 1: Integrate My App

Here, we will integrate Yoom with each app to enable operations.
First, log in to Yoom, then press My Apps on the left menu and click the "+ Add" button on the right.

Integrate Notion

1. Search
‍Enter Notion in the search box and click the Notion icon.

2. Access Request
A display regarding the access request will appear as shown in the image.
Check it and click "Select a Page".

3. Select Page
The pages already created in Notion will be displayed. Press "Allowing Access".

Return to the Yoom screen, and if the following display appears, the integration is complete!

Integrate Anthropic (Claude)

1. Search
Enter Anthropic (Claude) in the search box and click the Anthropic (Claude) icon.

2. Log In

  • Account Name: Set an arbitrary name that is easy to manage.
  • Access Token: Set the API key issued by Anthropic (Claude) as per the annotation.

Once input is complete, click "Add".

Return to the Yoom screen, and if the following display appears, the integration is complete!

Step 2: Copy Template

Next, please copy the template to be used this time from below.

1. Click "Try it"
2. If you haven't registered with Yoom yet, please register
※ If you have already completed registration, the login screen will be displayed, so please enter your login information.
3. The template will be copied to your Yoom management screen as shown below, so press OK to proceed with the settings.

Step 3: Notion App Trigger Settings

1. Select "When a page in a specific database is created or updated"
The screen will transition, but the settings such as the title will be the same as those set in Step 1, so just press "Next".

2. API Connection Settings for App Trigger

Please prepare a database in Notion in advance for the test operation to be performed later.
This time, we created a database like the one below for use in the test operation.

Once the Notion database is ready, return to the Yoom screen and enter the information in each field.

  • Trigger activation interval: Please note that it varies depending on the plan. If you have no particular preference, please select the shortest activation time.

  • Database ID: Please enter it from the Notion database you created earlier, referring to the red line below.

Once you have completed the input, please run "Test" after creating the page.
If the test is successful, the output will be displayed. If the output reflects the information in Notion, it's OK! Finally, click "Save" to proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Branch Condition Settings

※ The "Branch" operation is available with the Mini Plan or higher. Please note that it will result in an error with the Free Plan! The Mini Plan offers a 2-week free trial, so it's recommended to try various things during this period.

1. Select "Command Operation"

2. Specify Branch Conditions

<span class="mark-yellow">This time, we want to branch when a new page is created in Notion, so we set it as shown in the image below.</span>

When you click the input field, the output will be displayed, so please select the last updated date. You can also add branch conditions, so customize them to your liking.
Once the settings are complete, press "Save" and proceed to the next step.

Step 5: Notion Record Retrieval Settings

From here on, only those that meet the branch conditions will proceed with the settings.

1. Select "Retrieve Record (ID Search)"

2. Database Integration
Specify the Notion database to retrieve records.
When you click the input field as shown in the image below, candidates will be displayed, so please select the database ID set in Step 3.

Once the input is complete, click "Next".

3. Detailed Settings for Database Operations
Set conditions to retrieve one row of records that match the conditions from the specified Notion database.
This time, we selected the Notion object ID as shown below. Only records that match the "Record Condition" in Notion with the retrieved output "Object ID" will be retrieved.

Once entered, please execute "Test".

If the test is successful, the output will be displayed. Finally, click "Save" and proceed to the next step.

Step 6: Anthropic (Claude) App Integration Settings

1. Select "Generate Text"
The screen will transition, but the settings such as the title will be the same as those set in Step 1, so just press "Next".

2. API Connection Settings
Set the content to instruct AI in Anthropic (Claude).

  • model: Please set the AI model to execute by referring to the annotation.
  • role: Set the role of the input message to either user or assistant as per the annotation.
  • content: Set the instruction text for AI. This time, we clicked the input field and added the "content" read from Notion, instructing it to summarize within 500 characters.

Once the input is complete, please execute "Test".
If the test is successful, the output will be displayed. Although the output is not reflected in the test operation in the image below, in reality, the content instructed in Anthropic (Claude) is reflected in the output.

Once confirmed, select "Save" and proceed to the next step.

Step 7: Notion Record Update Settings

1. Select "Update Record (ID Search)"

2. Database Integration
Specify the Notion database to update records.
When you click the input field as shown in the image below, candidates will be displayed, so please select the database ID set in Step 3.
Once the input is complete, proceed with "Next".

3. Detailed Settings for Database Operations

  • Condition for the record to be updated: Specify the record you want to overwrite. This time, we specified the record ID in the trigger to retrieve the Notion record as shown below.

  • Value of the record after update: Enter the content generated by Anthropic (Claude). When you click the input field, the output will be displayed as shown in the image below, so please select which item in Notion you want to reflect it in.

Once you have completed the input, click "Test".
Finally, return to the Yoom screen and select "Save".

Step 6: Turn ON the Trigger and Check Operation

The settings are complete, so turn the trigger "ON" and check the operation.
