■Overview
Do you manage important files in OneDrive but still back them up manually? Manually duplicating files is time-consuming and prone to errors, such as missed copies. With this workflow, whenever a file is uploaded to a specific OneDrive folder, a backup is automatically created in another folder. Eliminate the hassle and errors of manual backups and keep your files reliably organized.
■Who is this template for?
- Anyone who manually backs up important files managed in OneDrive
- Anyone who wants to prevent human errors such as missed backups or incorrect file copies
- Anyone who wants to automate repetitive file management tasks and improve productivity
■Benefits of using this template
- Because the file duplication process runs automatically when a file is uploaded to OneDrive, you can reduce the time spent creating backups manually.
- By eliminating manual work, you can prevent human errors such as missed file copies or saving files in the wrong location, ensuring reliable file management.
■Flowbot steps
- First, connect OneDrive to Yoom.
- Next, select OneDrive as the trigger, set the action to “When a file is created or updated in a specific folder,” and specify the folder to monitor.
- Then, configure the branching feature in the operation settings and set a condition so that the workflow proceeds only when a file is created.
- Finally, configure OneDrive’s “Duplicate a file” action in the operation settings to duplicate the file detected by the trigger to the specified backup folder.
※“Trigger”: An action that starts a flow. “Operation”: An action that performs processing within a flow after the trigger starts.
■Customization options
- In the OneDrive trigger settings, specify the folder you want to monitor for file uploads.
- In OneDrive’s file duplication action, specify the folder where you want to store backup files.
■Notes
- Connect OneDrive to Yoom.
- You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Please note that the shortest available interval varies by plan.
- Due to the app’s specifications, the file creation date and last modified date may not be the same, which could prevent the branching process from working correctly.
- Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) offers personal and business plans (Microsoft 365 Business). Authentication may fail if you are not subscribed to a business plan.
- Branching is an operation available on the Personal plan and higher. On the Free plan, operations using branching in configured Flowbots will result in an error.
- Paid plans, such as the Personal plan, include a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use apps and features (operations) that are otherwise subject to plan restrictions.
