How to forward posts from a specified space to another space in Google Chat
-
In business settings, Google Chat is often used to enhance communication efficiency. However, manually forwarding messages to another space can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. This process can also hinder smooth information sharing and increase the risk of missed forwards. These challenges can be addressed by automating the forwarding to another space. This article introduces a method to automate message forwarding in Google Chat without any coding. It's easy to implement even without specialized knowledge, so consider using it when automating message forwarding in Google Chat.
Recommended for:
- Those using Google Chat
- Those who find manually forwarding content posted on Google Chat to other spaces cumbersome
- Those who want to smoothly share interactions on Google Chat
- Those who want to improve the transparency of interactions on Google Chat
Benefits and Examples of Integrating Google Chat:
Benefit 1: Facilitating Information Sharing Among Teams
When manually forwarding messages posted in a specific space on Google Chat, there can be a time lag. Delayed information sharing can result in delayed responses. By integrating Google Chat with Yoom to automatically forward messages to another space, smooth information sharing becomes possible. For example, if a request from a customer arrives on Google Chat and confirmation is delayed, the preparation time for related members is reduced. With integration, customer messages are automatically forwarded, allowing stakeholders to smoothly confirm information.
Benefit 2: Reducing Manual Message Forwarding Tasks
Manually forwarding messages posted on Google Chat to another space is cumbersome. As forwarding tasks increase, the time available for other important tasks decreases. By integrating Google Chat with Yoom, manual message forwarding can be reduced, improving work efficiency. For instance, members of a sales team with many customers spend a lot of time just forwarding messages from customers. With integration, forwarding tasks are reduced, and more time can be allocated to customer interactions.
Benefit 3: Improving Information Transparency
When messages are forwarded manually, there is a risk of missed forwards. If information is not forwarded, related members cannot proceed with their tasks. By integrating Google Chat with Yoom, missed message forwards can be prevented, improving information transparency. For example, if a sales team receives an inquiry from a customer that the technical team needs to address, the customer cannot be assisted if the message is not posted. However, with automatic forwarding, the support team can confirm all information and provide appropriate support.
Now, let's introduce how to use the no-code tool Yoom to "forward content posted in a specified space on Google Chat to another space."
[About Yoom]
How to Forward Content Posted in a Specified Space on Google Chat to Another Space:
This method can be achieved by using the Google Chat API to receive information when content is posted in a specified space on Google Chat and then forwarding it to another space on Google Chat. Generally, programming knowledge is required to achieve this, but with the no-code tool Yoom, it can be easily achieved without programming knowledge.
We will create this in the following major processes:
- Register Google Chat as My App
- Copy the template
- Set the trigger for Google Chat, which will be the starting point of the flow, and the subsequent settings
- Turn on the trigger button and verify the integration operation
If you are not using Yoom, please register for free from [here](https://lp.yoom.fun/). If you are already using Yoom, please log in.
Step 1: Integrate Google Chat with My Apps
To connect Google Chat with Yoom, register it in My Apps.
1. On the left side of the Yoom management screen, select "My Apps" and click "+ New Connection".
2. On the following screen, search for and select Google Chat (OAuth), then click "Sign in with Google" to proceed to the next screen.
3. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret, then click "Register" to complete the My Apps registration. ※ How to obtain the Client ID and Client Secret is explained on the help page here.
※ Integration with Google Chat is only possible with Google Workspace. For details, please refer to here.
Step 2: Copy the Template
Copy the template that forwards content posted in a specified space in Google Chat to another space.
1. Open the link below.
2. Click "Try this template" to complete the copy.
Step 3: Setting up the Google Chat Trigger
Set up the trigger action that will start the flow. In this flow, the trigger will activate when a message is posted in a specified space in Google Chat.
1. Select "My Projects" in the Yoom management screen and click "【Copy】When a message is posted in a specified space in Google Chat, forward the content to another space". *The template title can be changed as desired on the next screen.
2. Click "App Trigger When a message is sent to the space".
3. Confirm the account to be linked with Google Chat and click "Next". *Other items are set by default.
4. Set the trigger activation interval and the resource name of the space, and conduct a test. *Trigger activation intervals of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes are available, and the selectable time varies depending on the plan. The trigger action is checked once at each selected interval, and if executed, the flow bot is activated. If you want to forward messages immediately, a short interval setting is recommended. *The resource name of the space can be selected from "candidates" displayed by clicking the frame.
5. If the test is successful, the information obtained from Google Chat will be displayed in the output. If there are no issues, save it.
Step 4: Google Chat Forwarding Settings
Finally, set up the forwarding of the post content to another space.
1. Click "Send message to integrate with the app".
2. Confirm the account to be linked with Google Chat and click "Next". *Other items are set by default.
3. Set the resource name of the space and the message content, and conduct a test. *The resource name of the space can be selected from "candidates" displayed by clicking the frame. *The message content can be directly entered as a template. Additionally, the content you want to forward can be set from the output "When a message is sent to the space" displayed by clicking the frame. (Values are displayed in double brackets) This allows dynamic reflection of content that changes with each post.
4. If the test is successful, the message will be sent to the specified space. If there are no issues, save it.
5. When the trigger is turned ON, every time a message is posted in the specified space in Google Chat, the content will be automatically forwarded to another space.
If you have any questions about the flow introduced, please check the help page.
Other Automation Examples Using Google Chat
There are many other examples of automation using Google Chat in Yoom, so here are a few.
1. Notify Google Chat When a Response is Submitted in Google Forms
You can automatically notify Google Chat when a response is submitted in Google Forms. This integration can reduce the need to regularly check Google Forms responses, potentially improving work efficiency.
2. Notify Google Chat when a row is added in Google Sheets

I've been running a personal blog for over 5 years.
When writing, it is important to explain the information readers want to know in an easy-to-understand manner.
Based on the writing experience I learned in managing a blog, I will introduce how to use and appeal of Yoom, which can automate complex tasks without code, in an easy-to-understand manner.
Conventional RPA can only automate simple repetitive tasks, and the setup process was very complicated. With “hyperautomation,” which combines various technologies such as AI, API, RPA, and OCR, it is possible to automate many tasks that could not be realized until now more easily than before.
Most tools simply connect one app to another, leaving the complex tasks to you. Yoom goes much further: From document creation and browser automation to OCR and generative AI, Yoom handles it all seamlessly in one platform.
Why settle for basic integrations? Streamline your entire workflow with Yoom’s powerful hyperautomation.
