[No Code Required] How to Automatically Integrate Google Meet Data into Microsoft Teams

"Ah, I have to send the meeting start notification to everyone on Microsoft Teams again..."
"The meeting today is over, but how should I share it with those who couldn't attend?"
"I want to review the meeting content later, but transcribing it every time takes quite a bit of time..."

Do you feel like this every day? With the increase in remote work, meetings on Google Meet have become the norm, but notifying the start and end of meetings and sharing the content can be surprisingly cumbersome. Have you ever thought about what if Google Meet and Microsoft Teams could automatically integrate? Actually, it can be done!
For example, when a meeting starts on Google Meet, you can automatically notify a designated channel on Microsoft Teams with "The meeting is starting!" and when the meeting ends, notify with "It's over!". Furthermore, at the end of the meeting, it's possible to automatically transcribe the content and quickly share it on Microsoft Teams.

In this article, we introduce what you can do by integrating Google Meet and Microsoft Teams! If there's an integration flow you're interested in, you can experience it immediately by clicking the "Try it out" button. Why not automate those tedious confirmation tasks?

For those who want to try it out quickly

By using Yoom, you can easily integrate Google Meet and Microsoft Teams without any code. Yoom provides templates for integrating Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, so you can achieve integration immediately just by registering, even without API knowledge.

Let's Create a Flow to Integrate Google Meet and Microsoft Teams

Let's get started by creating a flow that integrates Google Meet and Microsoft Teams!
We'll be using Yoom to proceed with the integration without any coding, so if you don't have a Yoom account yet, please create one through the Yoom registration form.

[What is Yoom]

This time, we will create a flow bot that notifies Microsoft Teams when a meeting starts in Google Meet!

The creation process is broadly divided into the following steps.

  • Integrate Google Meet and Microsoft Teams with My Apps
  • Copy the template
  • Set the trigger for Google Meet and the action for Microsoft Teams
  • Set the trigger to ON and complete the preparation for flow operation

Step 1: Integrate Google Meet and Microsoft Teams with My Apps

Here, we will integrate Yoom with each app to enable operations.

[Google Meet My Apps Integration]

After logging into Yoom, click on My Apps on the left side of the Yoom page screen and select New Connection on the right.

Enter "Google Meet" in the search box at the top right and select Google Meet from the search results.

When you select Google Meet, a screen like the one below will appear. Press "Sign in with Google".

When a screen like the one below appears, select the account you want to integrate this time.

Once the screen transitions, click "Next".

You will be asked to select the information Yoom can access, so click "Select All".
Once the checkboxes are checked in blue, select "Continue" at the bottom of the page.

This completes the My Apps registration for Google Meet!

[Microsoft Teams My Apps Integration]

Follow the same steps as before, log into Yoom, click on My Apps on the left side of the Yoom page screen, and select New Connection on the right.
Enter "Microsoft Teams" in the search box at the top right and select Microsoft Teams from the search results.

Next, when the API connection settings screen for the app trigger is displayed, select the "Trigger Interval".
You can choose the trigger interval from 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 60 minutes.
※ Please note that the selection of intervals varies depending on the plan.

Next, move to the Google Meet screen and start the meeting.
Once started, return to the Yoom screen and click "Test".

Once the test is successful, scroll down the screen and check if the "Retrieved Values" are displayed correctly.

If there are no issues, click "Save". This completes the Google Meet trigger setup!

Step 5: Set up Notification to Microsoft Teams

This is the final setup! Here, you will set up notifications to Microsoft Teams.
Please click the red frame below.

First, check if the account information for integration is correct.
The title and execution actions are set by default, so no operation is needed.

Proceed to the next step, and the following screen will be displayed.
Here, you will configure the API connection settings. "Team ID" and "Channel ID" can be selected from the suggestions displayed when you click the input bar.

※The following image shows the settings selected from the suggestions in the "Channel ID" field.

In the "Message" field, set the content to be notified to Microsoft Teams. Click the box and insert the information.
※As shown in the image below, you can quote Google Meet information by selecting from the output.

Once the input is complete, click "Test".
If "Test Successful" is displayed as shown in the image below, click "Save".
