Let's Create a Flow to Automatically Notify Slack with Outlook Data
Let's get started by creating a flow that automatically notifies Slack with Outlook data! This time, we'll use Yoom to proceed with the setup without any coding. If you don't have a Yoom account yet, please create one using this registration form.
[What is Yoom]
This time, we'll create a flow bot that sends a notification to Slack whenever an event is registered in the Outlook calendar!
The creation process is broadly divided into the following steps:
Integrate Outlook and Slack with My Apps
Copy the template
Set up the Outlook trigger and Slack action
Set the trigger to ON and complete the flow operation preparation
Step 1: Connect Outlook and Slack with My Apps
Register the apps you use in Yoom's My Apps!
Registering in My Apps beforehand will make later settings smoother!
1. Register Outlook in My Apps
Click "My Apps" and select "+ Add" on the right side of the screen. ※ If you are not subscribed to a general corporate plan for Microsoft365 (formerly Office365), authentication may fail.
The account screen will appear, so click on the Microsoft 365 account associated with the Outlook you want to link.
Enter the account password on the password input screen and click sign in.
2. Register Slack in My Apps
Click "My Apps" → "+ Add" on the left side of the Yoom screen.
Search for Slack by "Search by App Name" or find it from the app list.
A screen like the image below will be displayed. Set the channel to receive notifications and click "Allow".
If Slack is displayed on the My Apps screen, you are done.
Step 2: Copy the Template
Next, copy Yoom's template. Click the icon for "Try it" on the banner template below.
When the screen shown in the image below is displayed, the template copy is complete.
Step 3: Setting Up Outlook as a Trigger
In this step, we will proceed with the settings to detect the creation of an event in Outlook using Yoom's API and use it as the trigger (starting point) for this automation! Click on the area within the "When an event is registered in the calendar"!
A screen to select the linked account and action will be displayed, so confirm that the Outlook account to be linked is correct and click "Next".
The next screen will also be an automation settings screen, so proceed with the input according to the content.
The trigger activation interval can be selected from 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 60 minutes. It is generally recommended to use the shortest activation interval available in your plan!
※ The shortest interval that can be set for the trigger varies depending on your plan, so be sure to check that point.
For the User ID, click on the input field and select from the suggestions displayed below.
Select any time zone you prefer.
After input, register a new event in the calendar and click "Test".
When the test is conducted, the scheduled data from the linked Outlook will be retrieved and displayed as output as shown below. The retrieved values can be used when entering settings later.
※ For more details on the output, please check here.
After the test is successful, click "Save".
Step 4: Notify on Slack
Finally, let's set up to receive notifications on Slack! Click on the "Send Message to Channel".
Next, on the screen to select the linked account and action, confirm the Slack account to be linked and click "Next".
The API connection settings will be displayed, so proceed with the settings! Select the channel ID to post to from the suggestions as shown in the screen below.
For the message, try entering it using the output obtained from the previous test. In the example below, the message is entered so that you can confirm the finalization of the schedule in Outlook, the title of the schedule, the start date and time, and the Outlook URL.
After entering, click "Test" and confirm that the message has been sent to Slack! After confirming "Test Success", click "Save".
Step 5: Set the Trigger to ON and Complete Flow Activation Preparation
By clicking the "Turn on the trigger" area in the red frame on the screen below, the flow bot will automatically activate.
Thank you for your hard work on the setup!

Conventional RPA can only automate simple repetitive tasks, and the setup process was very complicated. With “hyperautomation,” which combines various technologies such as AI, API, RPA, and OCR, it is possible to automate many tasks that could not be realized until now more easily than before.
Most tools simply connect one app to another, leaving the complex tasks to you. Yoom goes much further: From document creation and browser automation to OCR and generative AI, Yoom handles it all seamlessly in one platform.
Why settle for basic integrations? Streamline your entire workflow with Yoom’s powerful hyperautomation.
