Task management can be considered a key point in smoothly executing a project. However, do you ever feel a bit of hassle in creating or checking tasks themselves? This time, we introduce an app integration that enables efficient task creation. The integration involves Microsoft Teams and Jira Software. By utilizing AI extraction features, messages sent to Microsoft Teams can be read and tasks can be automatically created, potentially reducing manual work and improving operational efficiency.
Recommended for:
- Companies using Microsoft Teams as their main communication tool
- Companies managing tasks with Jira Software
- Those who communicate about tasks in Microsoft Teams
- Those who want to reduce tool switching and create tasks efficiently
Benefits and Examples of Integrating Microsoft Teams and Jira Software
Benefit 1: Simplification of Issue Creation
With this automation, messages posted in specific channels of Microsoft Teams are read using AI extraction features, and issues are automatically created in Jira Software based on the content. This is expected to simplify issue creation in Jira Software. For example, if you need to create a new issue while working, you would typically need to interrupt your work and access Jira Software. By implementing this integration, you can shortcut such actions, and issues are automatically created just by sending a message in Microsoft Teams, saving you effort.
Benefit 2: Enhanced Issue Sharing
By posting the issue content directly in Microsoft Teams, which is used as the main communication tool, issue sharing is likely to become smoother. For example, normally, you would need to access Jira Software to check issues, but with messages posted in Microsoft Teams, you can check the same content, making it easier to quickly grasp issues. Additionally, it may prevent overlooking content, potentially improving task management capabilities in team projects.
Benefit 3: Prevention of Issue Creation Omissions
By introducing automation using these two apps, you may avoid omissions in task creation. For example, even if you intend to add a discovered problem as an issue while working, you might focus on the work itself and postpone issue creation. This could prevent sharing necessary issues with team members, hindering progress. However, with automation, issues can be created just by posting a message in frequently used Microsoft Teams, making it easier to create issues than traditional methods and preventing omissions.
Now, let's explain how to create issues in Jira Software when a message is posted in Microsoft Teams using the no-code tool Yoom.
[What is Yoom]
How to Convert Content Posted in Microsoft Teams into Issues in Jira Software
First, pick up specified strings from the content of messages posted in specific channels of Microsoft Teams using AI extraction features. Then, use the Jira Software API to receive this data and register it as a new issue. Generally, programming knowledge is required to achieve such integration, but with the no-code tool Yoom, it can be easily achieved without programming knowledge.
The integration flow is broadly divided into the following processes:
- Integrate Microsoft Teams and Jira Software with My Apps
- Set up to launch Microsoft Teams
- Set up to pick up strings with AI extraction features and create issues in Jira Software
- Turn on the trigger button and verify the integration operation between Microsoft Teams and Jira Software
First, register with Yoom. Yoom offers a 2-week trial, allowing you to actually operate and verify the usability.
Step 1: Connect Microsoft Teams and Jira Software with My Apps
After completing the registration with Yoom, please select "My Apps" from the menu on the left.
Next, click the new connection button at the top right.
Connect Microsoft Teams and Yoom
1. Log in Log in to Microsoft365. By logging into Microsoft365, the My Apps connection will be completed quickly. ※ If you are not subscribed to the general business plan (Microsoft365 Business) for Microsoft365 (formerly Office365), authentication may fail.
2. Search
Click the Microsoft Teams icon.
3. Connection Complete
The screen will switch immediately. If the above display appears, the connection is complete.
Connect Jira Software and Yoom

Search for Jira Software and click the Jira Software icon.
Once the two required fields are set, press the add button at the bottom right. If the above display appears, the connection is complete.
Step 2: Copy the Template
Next, please copy the template to be used this time.
1. Click "View Details" on the top banner 2. Click "Try this template" at the bottom of the transitioned screen 3. If you haven't registered with Yoom yet, please register ※ If you have already completed registration, the login screen will be displayed, so please log in.
When the Flowbot template is copied to "My Projects", the above display will appear.
You will transition to a page like the image, so let's proceed with detailed settings.
Step 3: Microsoft Teams Launch Settings
1. Open My Projects
Open "My Projects" from the menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Open the copied template
Click "[Copy] Create an issue in Jira Software when a message is posted in Microsoft Teams".
3. Select App Trigger
Click "When a message is sent to a channel" under the Microsoft Teams icon. The title and other settings are complete, so click Next.
4. Set Trigger Interval
Set each item.
First, set the launch interval. Triggers can be set at intervals of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 60 minutes. Please note that the shortest launch interval varies depending on the plan.

After working as a general store manager, I started working from home as an SEO writer. Later, an outsourcing agreement was signed with a marketing startup for about 5 years.
Surrounded by students at the University of Tokyo, I held a computer and spent my days studying various business terms and how to use SaaS tools.
When I was a general store manager, time was taken over and over again by office work such as sales and inventory management, human resource management, and ordering, etc., and I was unable to serve customers and often missed sales times. Even when outsourcing, there are many detailed tasks such as input, etc., and “can't such monotonous tasks be automated?” I thought so, and I really sympathize with Yoom's vision!
Conventional RPA can only automate simple repetitive tasks, and the setup process was very complicated. With “hyperautomation,” which combines various technologies such as AI, API, RPA, and OCR, it is possible to automate many tasks that could not be realized until now more easily than before.
Most tools simply connect one app to another, leaving the complex tasks to you. Yoom goes much further: From document creation and browser automation to OCR and generative AI, Yoom handles it all seamlessly in one platform.
Why settle for basic integrations? Streamline your entire workflow with Yoom’s powerful hyperautomation.
