Extract and translate text from PDFs uploaded to Box, then send notifications to Discord

Manually translating each file uploaded to Box and sharing it with the relevant teams can be inefficient and time-consuming. With this workflow, simply uploading a PDF file to Box automatically triggers text extraction, translation, and a notification in Discord, enabling smooth information sharing across language barriers.

■Flowbot Steps

1. First, connect Box and Discord to Yoom.
2. Next, select Box as the trigger, set the “When a file is uploaded to a folder” action, and specify the folder you want to monitor.
3. Then, configure Box’s “Download a file” action as an operation to retrieve the uploaded file.
4. Next, select the OCR feature’s “Read any image or PDF” action as an operation, specify the downloaded file, and extract its text.
5. Then, select the AI feature’s “Translate” action as an operation and translate the extracted text into the specified language.
6. Finally, configure Discord’s “Send a message” action as an operation to notify the specified channel of the translated text.

* “Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.

■Customization Options

• With the AI translation action, you can freely select the target language, such as Japanese or English.
• For Discord notifications, you can specify the channel ID where you want to send the message. You can also customize the message freely by inserting the file name retrieved from Box or the AI-translated text as variables, as well as adding fixed text.

■Notes

• Connect both Discord and Box to Yoom.
• AI operations for OCR and audio transcription are available only on the Team and Success plans. Please note that if you are on the Free or Mini plan, the configured Flowbot operation will result in an error.
