Generate a report in Microsoft Excel when a row is added to Google Sheets

Generate a report in Microsoft Excel when a row is added to Google Sheets

Launch this workflow to connect Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets !
■Overview
Do you find it time-consuming to manually create Microsoft Excel reports based on data managed in Google Sheets? While creating regular reports is important, manually transferring data takes time and can lead to input errors. With this workflow, a Microsoft Excel report is automatically generated whenever a row is added to Google Sheets, helping you streamline these routine tasks and focus on more important work.

■Recommended for
  • Anyone who manually creates Microsoft Excel reports based on data in Google Sheets
  • Anyone looking to reduce the time spent creating regular reports and improve operational efficiency
  • Anyone who wants to prevent human errors such as input mistakes and omissions caused by manually transferring data

■Benefits of using this template
  • Reports are automatically generated when a row is added to Google Sheets, reducing the time previously spent on manual work.
  • Since manual data transfer is no longer required, you can reduce the risk of human errors such as incorrect entries and omissions.

■Workflow steps
  1. First, connect Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel to Yoom.
  2. Next, select Google Sheets as the trigger and set the action to “When a row is added.”
  3. Finally, set the “Generate a document” action under the document generation feature in the operation, and generate a report based on a Microsoft Excel template.
※“Trigger”: An action that starts the workflow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the workflow after the trigger starts.

■Customizing this workflow
  • In the Google Sheets trigger settings, specify the spreadsheet ID and sheet name (tab name) you want to include in the automation.
  • In the document generation operation settings, select the Microsoft Excel template file you prepared in advance and specify which information retrieved from Google Sheets should be reflected in the report.

■Notes
  • Connect both Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel to Yoom.
  • You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
  • Note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
  • For important notes on using Google Sheets as an app trigger, see [App Trigger] Important Notes About the Google Sheets Trigger.
