Summarize new Coda rows that match specific conditions with ChatGPT

This workflow automates these routine summarization tasks by connecting Coda with ChatGPT. Whenever a new row is created in a Coda table, its contents are automatically summarized by ChatGPT and written back to the specified column, making it easier to review and share information.

■Flow bot workflow

1. First, connect Coda and ChatGPT to Yoom
2. Next, select Coda as the trigger and set the “When a row is created in a table” action
3. Then, configure the branching feature in an operation so that subsequent steps run only when specific conditions are met
4. Next, select ChatGPT in an operation and set the “Generate text” action to summarize the information retrieved from Coda
5. Finally, set Coda’s “Update a row in a table” action in an operation to write the summary generated by ChatGPT back to the specified column

※“Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.

■Customization options

• In the Coda trigger settings, specify the document or table you want to use to start the flow bot
• With the branching feature, you can freely set the conditions for running the summarization, such as “When the status becomes ‘Summary requested’”
• In ChatGPT’s “Generate text” action, you can freely edit the prompt and specify the summary’s length, format, and other details
• In Coda’s “Update a row in a table” action, you can freely configure details such as which column should contain the summary generated by ChatGPT by inserting values retrieved in previous steps

• To run ChatGPT (OpenAI) actions, you need a paid OpenAI API plan. (You must be able to make payments when the API is used.)
