How to Automatically Notify Google Chat When a Chat Starts in Chat Plus

It is possible to achieve this by receiving chat initiation information from Chat Plus using Chat Plus's API and notifying Google Chat using the API provided by Google Chat.

We will create it through the following major processes.

  • Copy the template
  • Set a trigger in Chat Plus and set an action in Google Chat
  • Set the trigger to ON and complete the preparation for flow operation

If you are registered with Yoom, please log in. If you are not registered, please proceed with the settings after registering for free.

Step 1: Integrate Chat Plus and Google Chat with My Apps

First, integrate Chat Plus and Google Chat with My Apps.
After logging into Yoom, click "My Apps" on the left side of the screen and search for Chat Plus from "+ New Connection".

Set the account name and access token.
Enter any name for "Account Name". (Example: Management Account)
Enter the API token issued on this page for the "Access Token".

To issue an API token, first access here and log in with your account.
Then, set the "Password" on the API token issuance screen and click "Issue API Token". The API token will be displayed in red.

After entering the account name and access token, click "Add" to complete the integration of Chat Plus with My Apps.

Next, search for Google Chat.
*Integration with Google Chat is only possible if you have a Google Workspace subscription. For details, refer to here.
*If two apps appear in the search results, click Google Chat (OAuth).

Next, click "Sign in with Google".

Enter the "Client ID" and "Client Secret" and click "Register".
This completes the registration of Google Chat with My Apps.

Next, let's copy the Flowbot template. Log in to Yoom and click "Try it" on the banner below.

When the message "Template has been copied!" appears, click "OK" to complete the copy.

Step 2: Set the Trigger


Set the trigger for Chat Plus.
Click "When chat starts".

Next, check the "Account information to integrate with Chat Plus".
You can freely edit the title, but do not change the trigger action and click "Next".

Next, set up the Webhook.
Copy the Webhook URL displayed on the screen and set it in Chat Plus.

After setting up the Webhook, start a new chat and click "Test".

Ensure that the chat information is displayed in the output and click "Save".

Step 3: Set the Action

Next, set the action for Google Chat.
Click "Send a message".

Edit the title as desired and check the account information, then click "Next".

Set up the API connection.
The "Resource name of the space" can be selected from the suggestions or referenced from the space or direct message URL.
The "Message content" can be edited as desired. In this case, we set the message content to include the site name and person in charge.
After setting, click "Test" to check if the message is sent to Google Chat.
Once the sending is confirmed, click "Save".

Click "Turn on Trigger" to complete the preparation for flow operation.
Now, when an inquiry starts in Chat Plus, a notification will automatically be sent to Google Chat.
