Use OCR to extract text from internal documents uploaded to Box, summarize them with AI, and send a notification to Slack

This workflow automates the entire process—from OCR text extraction and AI-powered summarization to Slack notifications—whenever a file is uploaded to Box, helping you share information faster and work more efficiently.

■How the Flowbot Works

1. First, connect Box and Slack to Yoom.
2. Next, select Box as the trigger and set the action to “When a file is uploaded to a folder.”
3. Next, set the Box “Download a file” action as an operation and specify the file uploaded by the trigger.
4. Next, set the OCR “Read any image or PDF” action as an operation to extract text from the downloaded file.
5. Next, set the AI “Summarize” action as an operation to summarize the text extracted by OCR.
6. Finally, set the Slack “Send a message” action as an operation to notify any channel of the summary generated by AI.

※“Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.

■Customization Options

• For the content ID in Box’s “Download a file” action, use the value obtained from the trigger, “When a file is uploaded to a folder.”
• In the OCR “Read any image or PDF” action, you can choose which fields to extract.
• In the AI “Summarize” action, set the text obtained from the previous OCR step as the text to summarize.
• Configure the Slack notification message to include the summary generated by the AI step.

• Connect both Slack and Box to Yoom.
• The AI operations for OCR and audio transcription are available only on the Team and Success plans.
  Please note that operations in configured Flowbots will result in an error on the Free and Mini plans.
