When a specific file is added to Box, run OCR and post it to Reddit

■Overview

Manually posting the contents of files stored in Box to Reddit is not only time-consuming but also prone to human error, such as transcription mistakes. This can become an even greater burden when sharing information on a regular basis.
With this workflow, when a file is uploaded to a specific folder in Box, OCR automatically extracts the text and posts it to Reddit. This automates the manual posting process and improves operational efficiency.

■How the Flowbot works

1. First, connect Box and Reddit to Yoom.
2. Next, select Box as the trigger and set the action to “When a file is uploaded to a folder.”
3. Next, use the branching feature to split subsequent processes based on specific conditions.
4. Next, set the Box “Download a file” action in the operation.
5. Next, set the OCR “Extract text” action in the operation to extract text from the downloaded file.
6. Finally, set Reddit’s “Create a new post in a subreddit” action in the operation to post the extracted text to any subreddit.

■Customization options

• In the OCR action settings, you can specify which text fields to extract from the file being analyzed.
• For the Reddit posting action, you can customize the destination subreddit, title, body, and other details by setting fixed values or inserting values obtained through the preceding OCR action.

※“Trigger”: An action that initiates a flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within a flow after the trigger is activated.

• Connect both Box and Reddit to Yoom.
• The AI operations for OCR and audio transcription are available only on the Team and Success plans. Please note that operations configured in a Flowbot will result in an error on the Free and Mini plans.
• Paid plans, such as the Team and Success plans, include a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use apps and AI features (operations) that are subject to plan restrictions.
• Please note that OCR may not be able to read data containing 6,500 characters or more, or text that is too small.
