When an image is uploaded to Dropbox, use AI to extract text from the image and notify Slack

When an image is uploaded to Dropbox, use AI to extract text from the image and notify Slack

Launch this workflow to connect Dropbox & Slack !

■Overview

Do you spend too much time manually transcribing information after saving image files such as invoices and receipts to Dropbox?
With this workflow, you can automate the entire process—from having AI automatically read text from images uploaded to Dropbox to notifying Slack with the required information. Eliminate the time and errors associated with manual transcription to improve operational accuracy and speed.

■Who should use this template

  • Anyone who manually transcribes the contents of images or PDFs saved in Dropbox
  • Anyone who wants to streamline the digitization of data such as invoices and survey responses with AI technology
  • Teams that want to speed up information sharing in Slack and prevent missed confirmations

■Benefits of using this template

  • Automate everything from image uploads and OCR processing to notifications, reducing the time previously spent transcribing data
  • Prevent human errors such as manual transcription mistakes and missed confirmations, helping improve data accuracy

■How the flow works

  1. First, connect Dropbox and Slack with Yoom
  2. Next, select Dropbox as the trigger and set the action to “When a file is created or updated in a specific folder”
  3. Then, set the Dropbox “Download a file” action in the operation and specify the file detected by the trigger
  4. Next, select the OCR feature in the operation and extract text from the downloaded file using the “Read any image or PDF” action
  5. Finally, set Slack’s “Send a message to a channel” action in the operation and notify the designated channel with the extracted text information

※ “Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.

■Customization options

  • When extracting text with the OCR feature, specify the items you want to read, such as the company name, amount, or date. This allows you to accurately extract only the information you need
  • In the Slack message action, specify the channel where you want to send notifications. You can also freely customize the notification content by combining information extracted through OCR and other details

■Notes

  • ‍‍Connect Gmail and Google Sheets to Yoom separately.
  • You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
  • Please note that the minimum trigger interval varies depending on your plan.
  • For details on the file size limits supported by triggers and individual operations, see below.
    See below for details‍
  • AI operations for OCR and audio transcription are available only on the Team and Success Plans. Please note that on the Free and Mini Plans, operations in configured flow bots will result in an error.
