■Overview
Manually creating GitHub Issues based on documents created in Confluence can be time-consuming and prone to transcription errors. With this workflow, you can automate the integration between GitHub and Confluence, automatically creating a GitHub Issue based on the content whenever a new page is created in Confluence. Streamline the entire process from document management to task creation and boost development productivity.
■Who is this template for?
- Development teams that use GitHub and Confluence and currently link documents and tasks manually
- Anyone who wants to prevent missed or delayed Issue creation after documents are created and streamline project management
- Project managers who want to automate repetitive data entry and focus on more important development work
■Benefits of this template
- A GitHub Issue is automatically created when a page is created in Confluence, reducing the time previously spent on manual work.
- Eliminating manual data entry helps prevent human errors such as incorrect Issue titles or descriptions and missed task creation.
■Flowbot steps
- First, connect Confluence and GitHub to Yoom.
- Next, select Confluence as the trigger and set the action to “When a page is created.”
- Then, set up Confluence’s “Get a page” action as an operation to retrieve the content of the newly created page.
- Next, set up the text extraction feature’s “Extract data from text” action as an operation to extract the information required for the Issue from the retrieved page content.
- Finally, set up GitHub’s “Create a pull request” action as an operation and create an Issue using the extracted information.
※ “Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.
■Customization options
- In the text extraction operation, specify the sections of the Confluence page content you want to use as the Issue title and description.
- In the GitHub action for creating an Issue, you can freely configure the title and body by dynamically inserting information retrieved from Confluence or adding fixed text.
■Notes
- Connect both Confluence and Github to Yoom.
- You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
- Note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
