Read uploaded Box files with OCR and create customers in Stripe
■Overview
Do you find it time-consuming to manually transfer information when managing documents such as invoices and application forms in Box and registering payment information in Stripe? This process not only takes time but can also lead to human errors such as data entry mistakes. With this workflow, when a file is uploaded to Box, OCR reads its contents and automatically creates a customer in Stripe. By automating operations between Stripe and Box, you can eliminate manual work and maintain accurate customer records.
■Who should use this template
- Accounting teams that manually register customers in Stripe based on documents stored in Box
- Anyone looking to streamline the process from accepting applications to registering payment information using Stripe and Box
- Anyone considering automating routine customer management tasks through SaaS integrations
■Benefits of using this template
- Customer registration in Stripe is automated when a file is uploaded to Box, reducing the time previously spent on manual data entry
- Eliminating manual data transfer from documents reduces the risk of human errors, such as incorrect customer names or contact information and missed registrations
■How the Flowbot works
- First, connect Stripe and Box to Yoom
- Next, select Box as the trigger and set the action to “When a file is uploaded to a folder”
- Then, set the Box “Download a file” action as an operation and specify the file detected by the trigger
- Next, set the OCR operation to “Read text from an image or PDF” to extract text information from the downloaded file
- Finally, set the Stripe “Create a customer” action as an operation and create a customer using the information read by OCR
※“Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.
■Customization options
- In the Box trigger settings, specify the Content ID of the folder you want to monitor for uploads
- For the Stripe customer creation action, choose which information read by OCR to assign to fields such as the customer’s name and email address
■Notes
- Connect both Box and Stripe to Yoom.
- AI operations for OCR and audio transcription are available only on the Team and Success Plans. On the Free and Mini Plans, the configured Flowbot operation will result in an error.
- Paid plans, such as the Team and Success Plans, include a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use apps and AI features (operations) that are otherwise subject to plan restrictions.
- Please note that OCR may not be able to read data containing more than 6,500 characters or text that is too small.
