■Overview
When using GitHub for development projects, manually creating Issues based on various sources of information can be time-consuming.
This workflow automates the process of having ChatGPT automatically summarize the contents of a newly added row in Google Sheets and register it as an Issue in GitHub. By integrating ChatGPT with GitHub, you can reduce the time required to register tasks and keep your projects moving smoothly.

■Who Should Use This Template
- Developers and project managers who manually create Issues in GitHub and want to streamline task registration
- Anyone who uses ChatGPT to summarize text and wants to automate the entire process, including registering the result in GitHub
- Anyone who manages tasks or bug reports in Google Sheets and wants to improve collaboration with their development team
■Benefits of Using This Template
- From adding information to Google Sheets to summarizing it with ChatGPT and registering an Issue in GitHub, the entire process runs automatically, reducing the time spent on manual work.
- Prevent human errors such as manual transcription mistakes and missing details in summaries. Standardizing Issue content also helps ensure accurate task management.
■Flowbot Steps
- First, connect Google Sheets, ChatGPT, and GitHub to Yoom.
- Next, select Google Sheets as the trigger, set the “When a row is added” action, and specify the sheet to monitor.
- Then, set up ChatGPT’s “Generate text” action as an operation and instruct it to summarize the Issue content based on the information in the added row.
- Finally, set up GitHub’s “Create an Issue” action as an operation to automatically create an Issue containing the text generated by ChatGPT.
※ “Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes information within the flow after the trigger starts.
■Customization Options
- In the Google Sheets trigger settings, specify the spreadsheet, sheet, and table range from which to retrieve information.
- For the ChatGPT operation, customize the prompt (instructions) used to generate text and insert information retrieved from the spreadsheet as variables.
- For the GitHub action that creates an Issue, you can set fixed text or information retrieved in previous steps as variables for fields such as the repository, title, and body.
■Notes
- Connect each of Google Sheets, ChatGPT, and GitHub to Yoom.
- You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Please note that the shortest available interval varies by plan.
- To run ChatGPT (OpenAI) actions, you need a paid OpenAI API plan. (You must be able to make payments when the API is used.) For details, see the “OpenAI pricing page”.
- OpenAI charges for using the ChatGPT API based on the number of tokens used during API communication. Please note that an error will occur if you are unable to make payments when using the API.
- For important information about using Google Sheets as an app trigger, see “Important Notes on the Google Sheets Trigger for App Triggers”.
