■Overview
Do you find it time-consuming to manually copy and paste or summarize information when transferring data accumulated in Notion to Coda? This workflow automates the process of having ChatGPT automatically summarize the content whenever a Notion data source is updated, then add it to a Coda table. By integrating Coda with ChatGPT, you can reduce the time spent managing documents and consolidating information, enabling smoother collaboration across your workflows.
■Who This Template Is For
- Anyone who uses Notion and Coda together and wants to streamline manual data transfers
- Anyone who wants to use ChatGPT to automate information consolidation in Coda and content summarization
- Teams looking to improve productivity for routine tasks such as knowledge management and meeting note creation
■Benefits of Using This Template
- Automate the entire process from summarizing information with ChatGPT to adding it to Coda when information is added to Notion, reducing the time spent on manual work
- Prevent copy-and-paste errors and inconsistencies in summaries that commonly occur during manual data transfers, and centrally manage accurate information in Coda
■Flow Bot Steps
- First, connect Notion, Coda, and ChatGPT to Yoom
- Next, select Notion as the trigger and set the action to “When a page in a specific data source is created or updated”
- Next, set up the “Branch” feature as an operation so that subsequent steps run only when specific conditions are met
- Next, configure Notion’s “Retrieve a record (ID search)” action as an operation to retrieve detailed information about the updated page
- Next, configure ChatGPT’s “Generate text” action as an operation to summarize the retrieved information
- Finally, configure Coda’s “Add a row to a table” action as an operation to add the summary generated by ChatGPT to the specified table
■Customization Options
- When setting up Notion as the trigger, choose which data source to monitor
- For the action that asks ChatGPT to summarize text, customize the prompt freely, including the perspective from which you want the text summarized
- For Coda’s “Add a row to a table” action, specify the destination table and populate each field with values retrieved in previous operations, such as information from Notion or a summary generated by ChatGPT
※“Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.
■Notes
- Connect ChatGPT, Notion, and Coda to Yoom.
- To run ChatGPT (OpenAI) actions, you need an OpenAI paid API plan. (You must be able to make payments when the API is used.)
- OpenAI charges for ChatGPT API usage based on the number of tokens used when connecting to the API. If you are unable to make payments when using the API, an error will occur.
- You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
- Note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
- For details on how to retrieve information from Coda, see
this guide - Branching is an operation available on the Mini plan and above. On the Free plan, the configured flow bot operation will result in an error.
- Paid plans, including the Mini plan, come with a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use apps and features (operations) that are otherwise restricted.
