Create a folder in Box when a page matching specific conditions is created in Confluence

Create a folder in Box when a page matching specific conditions is created in Confluence

Launch this workflow to connect Confluence & Box !

■Overview

Do you manually create folders in Box every time you create knowledge articles or meeting notes in Confluence to store related files? This task is not only time-consuming but can also lead to issues such as missed folder creation and inconsistent naming conventions. With this workflow, you can automate the integration between Confluence and Box. When a specific page is created, a folder is automatically created in Box, making information management more efficient.

■Who This Template Is For

  • Those who use Confluence and Box together to manage project documents and files
  • Those who manually create folders in Box after creating pages in Confluence and find the process time-consuming
  • Those who want to standardize information management rules and prevent folders from being missed during manual creation

■Benefits of This Template

  • Reduce manual work by automatically creating a folder in Box whenever a page is created in Confluence
  • Prevent missed folder creation and naming errors, keeping information management consistent across Confluence and Box

■Flowbot Workflow

  1. First, connect Confluence and Box to Yoom
  2. Next, select Confluence as the trigger and set the action to “When a page is created”
  3. Then, configure branching in the operation settings so that subsequent steps run only when specific conditions are met
  4. Finally, set Box’s “Create a folder” action in the operation settings to automatically create a folder in the desired location

※ “Trigger”: The action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that performs a process within the flow after the trigger starts.

■Customization Options

  • When configuring branching, set the conditions for the pages that should trigger the Flowbot. For example, you can target only pages in a specific space or pages with a specific label
  • When configuring folder creation in Box, specify the folder name and the parent folder where it should be created. You can also use the Confluence page title as the folder name

■Notes‍

  • Connect both Confluence and Box to Yoom.
  • You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
  • Note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
  • Branching is an operation available on the Mini plan and above. On the Free plan, Flowbot operations that use branching will result in an error.
  • Paid plans, including the Mini plan, offer a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use apps and features (operations) that are restricted on the Free plan.
