Notify Discord when a GitHub issue is updated

Notify Discord when a GitHub issue is updated

Launch this workflow to connect GitHub & Discord !
■Overview
When managing projects on GitHub, manually sharing Issue updates with your team can be time-consuming, and important updates may be overlooked.
With this workflow, you can automatically send notifications to a designated Discord channel whenever an Issue is created or updated on GitHub, helping eliminate gaps and delays in team communication.

■Who This Template Is For
  • Developers who want to connect GitHub and Discord to streamline project information sharing
  • Project managers who want to automate Issue update notifications and eliminate the effort of sharing updates manually
  • Team leaders who want to reduce communication gaps within their development team and improve productivity

■Benefits of Using This Template
  • Save time by eliminating the need to manually check and notify your team about GitHub Issue updates, so you can focus on core development tasks.
  • Share the latest Issue information with your entire team quickly, without missed or delayed notifications caused by manual processes.

■How the Flowbot Works
  1. First, connect GitHub and Discord to Yoom.
  2. Next, select GitHub as the trigger and set the action to “When an Issue is newly created or updated.”
  3. Then, configure branching in the operation so that subsequent actions run only when specific conditions are met.
  4. Finally, set the Discord “Send a message” action in the operation to notify a designated channel with the Issue information.
※ “Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the flow after the trigger starts.

■Customization Options
  • In the GitHub trigger settings, specify the owner name and repository name for the repository you want to monitor.
  • In the branching operation, define the conditions for sending notifications, such as notifying only when an Issue has a specific label.
  • In the Discord message-sending action, specify the destination channel ID and customize the message content, including the Issue title and URL.

■Notes
  • Connect both GitHub and Discord to Yoom.
  • You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
  • Available minimum trigger intervals vary by plan.
  • Branching is an operation available on the Mini plan and above. On the Free plan, configured Flowbot operations will result in errors.
  • Paid plans, including the Mini plan, come with a two-week free trial. During the trial, you can use apps and features (operations) that are otherwise subject to plan restrictions.
