Create a folder in Canva when a specific issue is created in GitHub

Create a folder in Canva when a specific issue is created in GitHub

Launch this workflow to connect GitHub & Canva !
■Overview
Creating a folder manually in Canva to manage related design assets every time a new Issue is created in GitHub can be time-consuming. This workflow automates the integration between GitHub and Canva, automatically creating a corresponding folder in Canva whenever an Issue is created. Automating this process streamlines collaboration between development and design teams and helps prevent missed tasks.
■Who This Template Is For
  • Anyone looking to streamline design management in Canva by connecting it with GitHub Issues
  • Teams that want to reduce the effort of manually creating folders in development and design workflows
  • Anyone interested in automating project management with GitHub and Canva
■Benefits of This Template
  • Automatically generates a Canva folder whenever an Issue is created in GitHub, reducing the time previously spent on manual folder creation.
  • Helps prevent human errors such as missed folders and naming mistakes that can occur during manual folder creation, ensuring accurate management.
■Workflow
  1. First, connect GitHub and Canva to Yoom.
  2. Next, select GitHub as the trigger and set the action to “When a new Issue is created.”
  3. Then, configure a branching operation and specify the conditions for continuing the subsequent steps based on the retrieved Issue information.
  4. Finally, configure Canva’s “Create a folder” action as an operation to automatically create a folder with a name of your choice.
※ “Trigger”: An action that starts the workflow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the workflow after the trigger starts.
■Customization Options
  • In the GitHub trigger settings, specify the owner name and repository name you want to include in the automation.
  • With the branching feature, you can freely set conditions based on information retrieved from GitHub, such as “Run only when a specific label is included.”
  • When creating a folder in Canva, you can dynamically set the folder name using information retrieved in previous steps—such as the GitHub Issue title or number—as variables.
■Notes
  • Connect both GitHub and Canva to Yoom.
  • You can select a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
  • Please note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
  • Branching is an operation available on the Personal plan and higher. On the Free plan, the configured workflow operation will result in an error.
  • Paid plans, such as the Personal plan, include a two-week free trial. During the trial, you can use apps and features (operations) that are otherwise subject to plan restrictions. For details, see the Pricing Plans page.
