■Overview
How do you share important files with the right people when they’re uploaded to Box? Sending a Slack notification every time is not only time-consuming—it also increases the risk of missing someone. This workflow detects when a file is uploaded to a specific Box folder and automatically sends a notification to Slack, streamlining repetitive tasks and enabling fast, reliable information sharing.
■Who Should Use This Template
- Anyone who wants to prevent missed shares or delays in reviewing files uploaded to Box
- Anyone who regularly uses Slack and Box and wants to streamline manual notification tasks
- Anyone who wants to standardize the team’s file-sharing process and move faster
■Benefits of This Template
- Slack notifications are sent automatically whenever a file is uploaded to Box, reducing the time spent on manual tasks.
- Prevent human errors such as missed notifications and delayed reviews caused by manual sharing, ensuring reliable information delivery.
■Flowbot Steps
- First, connect Box and Slack to Yoom.
- Next, select Box as the trigger and set the action to “When a file is uploaded to a folder.”
- Then, configure the branching feature in Operations to split subsequent processes based on the uploaded file’s information.
- Finally, set Slack’s “Send a message to a channel” action in Operations to send a notification to the specified channel.
※“Trigger”: An action that starts a flow. “Operation”: An action that performs a process within a flow after the trigger starts.
■Customization Options
- In the Box trigger settings, specify the folder you want to monitor for notifications using its content ID.
- With the branching feature, you can freely set conditions for splitting subsequent operations based on information obtained by the preceding trigger, such as the file name or type.
- For Slack notifications, you can choose any destination channel and include variables such as the file name or URL in the message to create clear, informative notifications.
■Notes
- Connect both Box and Slack to Yoom.
- Branching is an Operation feature available on the Mini plan and above. On the Free plan, the configured Flowbot Operation will result in an error.
- Paid plans, including the Mini plan, offer a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use apps and features (Operations) that are otherwise subject to plan restrictions.
