Use AI to add furigana to kanji in Google Forms responses and add them to Google Sheets

Use AI to add furigana to kanji in Google Forms responses and add them to Google Sheets

Launch this workflow to connect Google Forms & Google Sheets !
■Overview
Adding furigana to each kanji character in names from application information or survey responses received through Google Forms can become a significant burden as the number of entries grows. With this workflow, when a response is submitted to Google Forms, AI automatically adds furigana to the kanji and appends the results to Google Sheets.
Eliminate the need for manual data entry and verification, and streamline your data management.
■Who This Template Is For
  • Anyone manually adding furigana to names collected through Google Forms
  • Anyone looking to use AI to automate data entry for customer lists or rosters
  • Anyone looking to streamline data transfer to Google Sheets and reduce input errors
■Benefits of This Template
  • Automate everything from adding furigana with AI to Google Forms responses through to appending the data to Google Sheets, reducing the time spent on manual entry.
  • Help prevent human errors such as incorrect furigana conversions and missed data transfers to Google Sheets, which can easily occur during manual work.
■Workflow
  1. First, connect Google Forms and Google Sheets to Yoom.
  2. Next, select Google Forms as the trigger, set the “When a response is submitted to the form” action, and specify the form you want to use.
  3. Then, set the AI feature’s “Generate text” action as an operation and instruct it to add furigana to the names received through the form.
  4. Finally, set Google Sheets’ “Add a record” action as an operation and append the form responses and generated furigana to the specified sheet.
※“Trigger”: An action that initiates a workflow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the workflow after the trigger runs.
■Customization Options
  • You can replace Google Forms configured as the trigger with other form-building tools supported by Yoom, such as formrun or Typeform.
  • You can freely edit the prompt used to generate furigana with the AI feature.
Customize it to match your requirements, such as outputting the readings in hiragana or separating given and family names.
  • You can also replace Google Sheets, where the data is stored, with other database apps such as kintone or Airtable.
■Notes
  • Connect both Google Forms and Google Sheets to Yoom.
  • For instructions on retrieving response data when using Google Forms as a trigger, see How to Retrieve Response Data with the Google Forms Trigger.
  • You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
  • Please note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
