Use AI to research competitors based on Google Forms responses and add the results to Notion

Use AI to research competitors based on Google Forms responses and add the results to Notion

Launch this workflow to connect Notion & Google Forms !
■Overview
When researching competitors and market trends based on survey responses and inquiries collected through Google Forms, manually gathering and analyzing information, then transferring the results to tools like Notion, can be time-consuming. With this workflow, submitting a response to Google Forms triggers AI to automatically conduct competitive research and add the results to Notion, helping you streamline these tasks.

■Who should use this template
  • Anyone using Google Forms and Notion who wants to reduce the effort involved in manual competitive research and data entry
  • Marketing professionals who want to use AI to streamline competitive research and centrally manage the results in Notion
  • Business planning professionals who want to spend less time gathering and entering information and focus on more strategic work

■Benefits of using this template
  • When a response is submitted through Google Forms, the process from AI-powered competitive research to adding the results to Notion is automated, reducing the time spent on manual tasks.
  • Prevent human errors such as data entry mistakes and missing information that can occur when manually gathering information and transferring data to Notion, helping improve operational accuracy.

■Workflow steps
  1. First, connect Google Forms and Notion to Yoom.
  2. Next, select Google Forms as the trigger, set the action to “When a response is submitted to a form,” and specify the form you want to use.
  3. Then, select the AI feature as an operation, set the action to “Generate text,” and write a prompt instructing the AI to conduct competitive research based on the Google Forms response.
  4. Finally, select Notion as an operation, set the action to “Add a record,” and add the competitive research results generated by AI to the specified database.
※“Trigger”: An action that starts the workflow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the workflow after the trigger starts.

■Customization options
  • In the AI feature’s “Generate text” operation, you can customize the research perspective and content in greater detail by entering fixed instructions in the prompt (for example, “List three competitors in a specific industry and describe each company’s strengths and weaknesses”) or by embedding specific items from the Google Forms response (for example, the name of the service of interest) as variables.
  • In Notion’s “Add a record” operation, you can not only specify the target database ID or page ID, but also assign the Google Forms response and text generated by the AI feature as variables to Notion properties such as titles, text, and select fields, enabling you to automatically organize and enter the information.

■Notes
  • Connect both Google Forms and Notion to Yoom.
  • You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
  • Please note that the shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
  • For details on how to retrieve response content when using Google Forms as a trigger, see “How to retrieve response content with the Google Forms trigger.”
