■Overview
Creating folders manually in Canva to manage related design assets every time you upload a file to Box is time-consuming. Manually applying folder naming conventions based on file names or customer names can also lead to errors.
Use this workflow to connect Box and Canva and automatically create a folder in Canva whenever a file is uploaded to Box. This helps eliminate inefficient manual tasks.
■Who is this template for?
- Anyone who frequently creates designs in Canva using assets managed in Box
- Anyone who finds it time-consuming to manually create folders and manage files between Canva and Box
- Anyone looking to standardize their team’s design process and reduce reliance on individual team members
■Benefits of this template
- Automatically create a folder in Canva simply by uploading a file to Box, reducing the time spent manually creating folders
- Prevent human errors such as missed folder creation and incorrect naming conventions, helping improve file management accuracy
■Workflow
- First, connect Box and Canva to Yoom
- Next, select Box as the trigger, set the “When a file is uploaded to a folder” action, and specify the target folder
- Then, set the AI feature’s “Extract data from text” action as an operation to extract the information to use as the folder name from the uploaded file name
- Finally, set Canva’s “Create a folder” action as an operation to create a folder based on the information extracted in the previous step
※ “Trigger”: An action that starts the workflow. “Operation”: An action that processes data within the workflow after the trigger starts.
■Customizing this workflow
- With the AI text extraction feature, you can specify which part of the file name to extract as data
- Canva’s folder creation action offers flexible settings, such as adding fixed text to the folder name or inserting values obtained in previous steps
■Notes
- Connect both Box and Canva to Yoom.
- You can choose a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
- The shortest available trigger interval varies by plan. Please note this when configuring the workflow.
