Extract information with OCR when a file is uploaded to Box, then create a folder in Canva

This workflow uses a file upload to Box as the trigger, automatically extracts text from the file using OCR, and creates a folder in Canva based on the extracted information—eliminating inefficient manual work and enabling smooth file management.

2. Next, select Box as the trigger and set the action to “When a file is uploaded to a folder”
3. Next, set the Box “Download a file” action as an operation to retrieve the file uploaded by the trigger
4. Next, set the OCR “Extract text from an image or PDF” action as an operation to extract the required information from the downloaded file
5. Finally, set the Canva “Create a folder” action as an operation to create a folder based on the information extracted by OCR

■Customization options

• In the OCR action settings, you can specify which fields to extract from the uploaded file. For example, you can set “Client name” or “Project number” in the document as extraction targets
• For the Canva folder creation action, you can do more than set a fixed folder name. You can also dynamically set the name by embedding information obtained through OCR, such as the “Client name,” as a variable

• Connect both Box and Canva to Yoom.
• You can select a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
• The shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
• AI operations for OCR and audio transcription are available only on the Team and Success plans. On the Free and Mini plans, operations in configured Flowbots will result in an error.
• Please note that OCR may not be able to read data exceeding 6,500 characters or text that is too small.
