When a specific post is made in Discord, OCR the attachment and create a note in Mem

Sharing information on Discord is convenient, but manually transferring information shared as images or PDFs to Mem, your knowledge management tool, can be time-consuming. With this workflow, posts to a specific Discord channel trigger automatic OCR processing of attached files, and the extracted text is saved as a new Note in Mem. Automate information sharing between Mem and Discord to eliminate the time and errors associated with manual data entry and streamline knowledge management.

■Flow Bot Steps

1. First, connect Discord and Mem to Yoom.
2. Select Discord as the trigger and set the “When a message is sent in a channel” action.
3. Set up the branching feature in an operation and configure conditions to proceed with subsequent steps when, for example, a specific keyword is included.
4. Next, set the Discord “Download files in a message” action in an operation.
5. Then, select the OCR feature in an operation and use the “Read any image or PDF” action to convert the downloaded file into text.
6. Finally, set the Mem “Create Note” action in an operation and create a new Note using the text extracted by OCR as its content.

※“Trigger”: An action that starts the flow. “Operation”: An action that performs a process within the flow after the trigger starts.

■Customization Options

• In the Discord trigger settings, you can specify which channel to monitor for notifications.
• With the branching feature, you can flexibly define the conditions that activate the flow, such as responding only to messages containing specific keywords.
• With the OCR action, you can customize which items to extract from the target file.
• When creating a Note in Mem, you can specify the collection ID for the destination. You can also add fixed text to the Note body or dynamically insert values retrieved in previous steps.

■Important Notes

• Connect both Discord and Mem to Yoom.
• Branching is available on the Mini Plan and above, while OCR AI operations are available only on the Team Plan and Success Plan. On other plans, the configured flow bot operation will result in an error.
• Paid plans, such as the Mini Plan, include a two-week free trial. During the free trial, you can use apps and features (operations) that are otherwise subject to plan restrictions.
• OCR may not be able to read data containing more than 6,500 characters or text that is too small. Please be aware of this limitation.
• You can select a trigger interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
• The shortest available trigger interval varies by plan.
